Decent article though I disagree with the likes of Nocerino (a Gattuso without the skill... and that's saying alot because what skill does Ape-man have in the first place?) and Paloschi being there.

Criscito and Forestieri would probably take their place in my book. Mario would be numero uno if he was a registered Italian citizen but alas he has to wait 'till he's 18.

People are quick to write off Italia for Euro 08 because we don't have as many big name players anymore like Portugal, Spain and France do but we have by far the strongest character and the most champions on our team.

No offence Mikey, I wish I was Italian when I watch Italia, but Lippi's team was something else. Donadoni has off-form players and lots of insecurities to suceed, I hope to be proved wrong but I dont think it is happening.

This is the 24 man squad. One of these will be removed. I really hope its Borriello or Aquilani. Borriello surely won't get to play much and Aquilani hasn't been fit enough to contribute much. I am happy about Cassano and Montolivo being there. These can provide the spark and freshness that Italy lacks.

Montolivo would be the odd one out I imagine. Same kind of player as Aquilani but not nearly as good. And great to see Cassano called by Donadoni. He was great at Euro 04 and obviously brilliant for Doria this year. If I had to guess the starting lineup it'd be

Zambrotta Cannvaro Matrix Chiellini/Grosso
Ambrosini Pirlo De Rossi
Camoranesi Toni Di Natale


I'd rather have Cassano starting over Di Natale but the Udine man has been good when linked up with Toni in the past. Matrix doesn't deserve that starting spot all that much but Donadoni won't leave him on the bench for the starting game. No clue who takes the LB spot. Chiellini has been good but I haven't heard too much from Grosso this season.

Toni- Di Natale (Cassano) should be the strikers in my opinion.
