Keep'em comin.

Catania land Argentine ace

Catania secured a huge swoop in the early hours of the morning when they closed a deal for Boca Juniors midfielder Pablo Ledesma.

The Sicilians had been tracking the 24-year-old international for months, but were just one of a host of sides interested in the South American star.

While Lazio considered a bid, Catania acted and landed their man late last night for an undisclosed fee.

At Boca, Ledesma won the Copa Libertadores, four Argentine titles and an Intercontinental Cup, earning his maiden national call-up on April 19 last year against Chile.

Ledesma will be presented at the Stadio Massimino tomorrow at 5pm and follows hot on the heels of Romanian international Nicolae Dica, as Walter Zenga looks to galvanise the squad that narrowly avoided relegation last term.

Who is bankrolling Catania? These are some impressive signings. Nicolea Dica and now Pablo Ledesma. Dont know how much did they pay for him. Catania really dont wanna flirt with relegation next season.

It also shows how far behind Argentinian league has gone (talent wise, its still the best league in the world, better than Brazil), when one of the relegation contenders of a European league just goes to the biggest club in Argentina, and snaps up their midfield star.

For the Argentinian player, its just a step to Europe. I am sure he will be thinking he will move to Madrid or Manu in a season or 2.

De Rossi sign a new deal with Roma. Some reports suggest that he will now be paid as high as 7.2 mil. Rated same caliber as Totti. If this is the case, I am sure Mancini will want to leave Roma. Hes getting paid three times less.

Serie A has been the most spending league in Europe so far, even though Inter hasnt spent a Euro yet.

Should be a great season. I'm still waiting to see what happens in the summer mercato though. Viola have made decent additions but has Mutu even committed to them yet? If he abandons ship, they're fucked. Milan have improved their squad with Flamini, Zambro and Borriello. Still an ancient team though.

Juve made the big swoop for Amauri, who should be a dynamo if he starts. Giovinco is a deadly little player too. Inter and Roma have yet to do anything worth mentioning on the transfer market. The mid-table teams are definitely getting stronger as well.

While the league as a whole isn't as strong as La Liga or the Premiership, it is returning to normal after calciopoli. This will be the toughest season yet for us, regardless of what we do on the transfer market.

I can bet my left nut, as well as the right one, Roma aint gonna pay him that much. He is their best player, but Sensi's are dirt cheap, and quite fraknly, I dont think any player is worth more than 6mills a season.
