I would add that this league was never shittier. Just see how this team of Bbeelan won all matches after our fuckupp against Bologna and had to play against mid table or higher table teams, that just shows you how shit is quality of this league. And we still manage to lose it.

I wish we could sit here and say that Inzaghi has learned from the experience, but he hasn't. It's been the same story all season. We start matches off like a team on the cusp on being unstoppable, score an early goal, begin sitting deeper, and concede. You saw it again today against Cagliari.

Our inability to kill off games has been our kryptonite. I would specifically blame our attackers.
Though it was not Inzaghi but the players. Inzaghi was waving on the sidelines to get the line higher ie. he didn't want the team to drop deep.

They still have the Conte mentality in them, so in that sense Inzaghi has still work to do. But I respect Inzaghi a ton for this season, for what he achieved after the debacle of last summer.

No, it's just that Milan has managed to play so tight and get the needed goals.

In general this was a good Serie A season. It doesn't always have to be one or two teams in 90 points tier for the season to be good.

Yep, flop of the season for me. Of the core players that were instrumental in our success last year his level has dropped the most. And if we’re being honest he has always been the weakest link mentally. This is the guy who couldn’t play away at Lazio the year after he left because he’s “remarkably sensitive” I can guarantee you right now that were De Vrij in the center of defense we concede in Liverpool. I think we probably should have used D’Ambrosio more than we did in the run in. Not even because D’Ambrosio is a better defender but just because we look so much more solid with Skriniar central and Danilo makes up for what he lacks in technical ability with heart. De Vrij is like a dork that gets shoved in a locker anytime we need him to stand the fuck up.

I think we may underestimate just how much of an improvement a player like Bremer would be. Not just because of what I mentioned above but also because currently we severely lack athleticism in our back line. None of our back 3 are what I would consider natural athletes. Skriniar is quick enough in most situations but Bastoni and De Vrij get by mostly on physicality and positioning. Replacing our worst athlete in defense with a player that would be our best athlete is a big deal. We can play a much higher line and suffocate teams.

Unless there’s a world where he can stay as a back up and we can still fund our Mercato moves he needs to go.
While we're having a good old fashioned bitch about de Vrij - I want it on the record that I blame him, not Dimarco, for Arnautovic's equaliser in the Bologna fiasco. The fuck does he think he's doing, telling some 160cm junior player to mark Bologna's far taller and most dangerous player? That's exactly the kind of thing you're talking about with him failing when we needed him to stand up this season.

I agree that this season was really interesting and entertaining till the end, but quality of league is bad, I was reffering to that. This team of Bbeelan would never win 5 games in a row playing against likes of Fiore, Lazio or Atalanta in last 10 years.

Milan deserve their title, but this is the worst Serie A winner since the second world war.
All the more reason for Inter to have flexed their muscles as defending champions rather than fucking out against the likes of Bologna.

And saying they will be the worst Serie A winner since World War II is scant consolation for us. That is the kind of shit we will be saying to comfort ourselves in the offseason and the next decade while we compete for 4th place and try and qualify for the Champions League.

90% of this forum (me included) hasn't seen a single match of Serie A even in the 90s so talking about some World War II age stuff is just ridiculous.

This was a great Serie A season. Title race, EL spot race and relegation race still going on when the matchday 38 starts. Comparing the level of the league between seasons is so hard because of multitude of variables.

It was an enjoyable season, close to the end, but only because people kept fumbling. That's where the quality gets low - like I said in the match thread, its like watching the 100m olympic hurdles and every fucking sprinter keeps falling over every damn hurdle. It might be a close race, but no one would say it'll be a high quality race.

Maybe the level of the league has gone up as a whole as even the top teams can't keep just winning all the time? You can see it in different angles.

I think, given the performances of the top teams in Europe, if anything it's gone down. I mean the fact that Juventus were a fucking disaster (hardly like they played well but midtable sides outplayed them, they played very badly) - at the start of the season and are top 4 speaks volumes imho

I wasnt talking about how entertaining was this season,I was talking how quality of the league dropped, how this shitty team like Beelan can win fkn scudetto in this fashion, killing almost every top 10 teams in the league with ease(Atalanta,Roma,Lazio,Fiore,Verona)..I watched Seria A in 90s and please dont compare that with this shitty league. That was NBA,this is some balkan regional league.

Don't have one.

Yeah, same here, but we also have to mention all of our players as well. How much any of them made significant improvements? And we all thought winning the title last year will help them with that. The only players I can think of that made leaps forward were perisic and to some extent skriniar. Everyone else either stayed the same or regressed, and de vrij in particular was swallowed by a black hole this season.

Now compared that to leao and tonali who could practically be considered as new signings given how much they improved, and well, we all get the picture.

When has Juve done well in CL?

Like I said, there are multiple variables in this "level of the league" in a single season.

In my humble opinion, Italian league has pretty much the same quality as it had a decade ago. The only thing that changed is that Juve crumbled because they were cocky (thinking they have serie a in their pocket). Inter and Milan got significantly better.

Overall it is as it is. However, the league has the potential to get better because teams are more competitive with each other, which creates pressure for teams like Juve, Milan, Napoli to get better.

A decade ago this league was in about its worst ever state - with Milan and Inter basically bankrupt, selling talent fast, etc :D

Yeah, 10 years ago Inter had Nagatomo, Walter Gargano, Jonathan, Pereira .

Milan had Kevin Konstant, Luca Antonini, Bonera, Muntari.

Rube had BBC, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal, Vucinic , Beppe Marotta unlimited funds and fully owned stadium.

Lautaro, Perisic, Hakan, and (probably) Dumfries were all better this season than they were last year.

Seriously who cares? Wether we lost a strong or a weak serie A?

Anyways i just cant help but feel like this is a title we threw away, kudos to bbilan and everything as they ve been a lot better than i expectd them to be at the end of the season.
That does not change that we should have walked away with the scudetto.
Imho we should have won the first derby and never should have lost the second one. Heck even if they both end up being draws we re ahead of BBilan and we d probably even win if we end up with the same points as them.
But no we threw both those games away......
