Chiesa is a cunt, but also great player, I hope he will be ok. But generally it's funny that Juve still needs to redeem him, pay for Locatelli and for Kean. Their best player has expiring contract (Dybala) and Raiola wants to move De Ligt to other club. And they still need to splash money for Morata's replacement. Total disaster.

with how many fouls are made just for this guy, it's no wonder

hopefully this doesn't mean Dybala signs a new contract with Juve

On a positive note for Juve, they will probably get a discount from Fiore for Chiesa and this is Kulusevski golden chance to establish himself. It's now or never for him.

Isn't Chiesa obligation activated? Well those 10m options won't be activated at least, so Chiesa costs them 50m.

There is an agreement between Chiesa and Juventus for the contract, as well as between the clubs. It will be a 2 year loan with a cost of 2 million euros for the first year and 8 million euros for the second year. The obligation to buy is set at 40 milion euros (starting from 2021/2022) and will trigger when one of these conditions are satisfied: Juventus to finish top 4 in the league; at least 60% of the total appearance (the player has to be on for at least 30 mins); or the player reaching 10 goals and 10 assists.

so off the top of my head, Juve are in:

cl -8 games total (lets say they get knocked out at the knock out because, well, its juve)
league - 38 games
supercup - 1 game
coppa - 2 games?

that's a total of 49 games. Chiesa has only played 18 this season, so he wont qualify on that criteria

Man, there's actually a good chance Fiorentina wont get the obligation triggered.

I wonder if contracts like this will include an option as well as the obligation - e.g. from a legal perspective Juventus must purchase Chiesea for £40m if these conditions are met, and Juventus have the option to purchase him whenever they want at £40m as well?

According to the further info from transfermarkt

Initial Loan fee: €12.60m + obligation of €40m + bonus €7.4m = €60m
Juventus: redemption obligation of 40 million from the 2021/2022 season, linked to the occurrence of one of these three conditions:
- placement in the top four of Juve,
- that Chiesa plays 60% of the games for a minimum of 30 minutes or
- plays at least 10 goals and 10 assists.
Plus another 7,4 million in any bonuses.

All those conditions are not met, it is fair to assume Fiorentina will be forced to renegotiate and had to accept a lower fee. Or what if Juve decides not to take their buyout option...

Well this is the thing right - Fiorentina could turn round and sell him to Liverpool for more than 40mil euros. If the obligation isnt met, Fiorentina might well actually NOT want to sell him, and ship him off somewhere else (even with the injury) for 60+mil quite possibly.

Viola actually (probably) DONT want to sell Chiesa at this price, whereas Juve do want to buy him on that option

I have my doubts if there will be teams willing to offer 40m or more for a player who's still recovering from an ACL injury. Everyone will probably try to lowball Fiorentina.

Sucks for him, especially for the type of player he is. Explosiveness is one of his main characteristics, and you are never going to get it on the same level after that type of injury.
Unfortunately seems this may be the story of this Italy generation. Zaniolo was an amazing talent then boom. Now Chiesa. I have more hope of him returning to his level then Zaniolo.

It's not just the injury fear which Zaniolo needs to get away from. He also needs a better team than this Roma if he doesn't want to fade into mediocrity.

Torino 2-0 up against Fiorentina after 25 minutes.
