respect for napoli that found a good replacement for Insigne... it shows that you can get great players with good scouting. They always did that, getting good players for not much money.. while we spend 20-40M for some players like Joao Mario and Gabigol. I wish we could make the same thing but it remains a dream.

Its early to say of course, Verona and Monza are poor teams at the moment, probably will fight for the last places. But after this whole disaster i expected the worse for Napoli, ending the season in conference league or something like that.. instead they still can fight for 4. place it seems.
or the reading messages...

I was texting this to Zanetti two years ago:

but, buying problems, like Vidal, Nainggolan, Kolarov, and Dzeko are more important for our management, than buying talents. :(

I doubt anyone in Inter ever heard of Kvaratskhelia, our scouting is almost non existent. Always same familiar names and "safe options" from Italy, zero imagination and creativity. Look at that Aaronson guy from Leeds. Two years ago he was in MLS,last season in Salzburg and boom...30+M transfer to Premier league and now looks awesome in England. We just can't do things like this.

I think one of the biggest problems Inter face is their way of thinking. The club has a total inability to think outside the box and simply does what it has always done.

Think about it, if Milito had not alerted and been integral to Lautaro's arrival at Inter, we would have missed him. And over the years, since his arrival, there has been very little effort to sign any up and comers.

There is absolutely zero creativity or adaptable thinking. Our scouting is so poor that it is embarrassing. I actually think that we are so broke that we no longer scout outside of Italy. Or, our scouts go overseas and kick back at the expense of the club, all the while reporting there were no players of interest.

Don't think it's fair to just blame the scouts. They could find players but beppe & ausilio could have the opinion that it's too risky to buy them.

We simply don't know where the problem starts.

Also coaches could prefer more experienced players. We have seen it before. Coaches have always had a big say at Inter.

We bought Coutinho, Kovačić, Icardi, Belfodil, Brozović, Juan Jesus, Taider, Skriniar, Hakimi, Bellanova, Sensi, Martinez, Asllani and bunch of other U23 talent. I believe our "scouts" are doing a good enough job, otherwise we'd be totally fucked by now. A lot of these players were at least sold at a profit, if not being here anymore. Sure, some, like Skriniar and Hakimi, weren't really unknown and big risks, but the fact remain I wouldn't be too mad at our scouts and Ausillio. We'd be even worse without all those transfers, even the ones that absolutely didn't work out for us (Belfodil, Taider,..)

It is not the scouting's fault Inter has money issues. Some great players are skipped because we don't play a certain formation and also some players are skipped because the coaches have their own ideas or ex players they want to use. As far getting the right players for the system, we've come a long way from where we were 10 years ago.

I don't think it's the scouts that are the problem, our scouts constantly find gems in the rough all the time, we just don't like taking risks and wait too long to go after talent we want to get them when they're already proven but by then everyone wants them and they're really expensive. It even goes on with our own talent like Zaniolo and now Casadei, probably Agoumé too.

Do we really need Mkhitaryan, couldn't we fucking give a chance to Casadei, if he didn't work out we could have gotten someone in January.

Agreed Inter -- for right or for wrong -- has never been the place where you can take the risk of buying raw players with high potential. Think Coutinho and Kovačić who are world class talent. Here in Milan the spirit was always: why is he playing, he is so bad (just because they were young and maybe made some bad plays out of lack of experience). It's not easy for anyone without balls to play in S. Siro.
One example is Balotelli who was young and inexperienced, but played good no matter what (maybe he just didn't give a fuck about anything...yes, probably).
