Seems that there have been pressures from Consob, the Italian entity that vigiles on Companies that are on the stock exchange, and also from the Italian Procura, the prosecutor's office.
So, during the last board meeting they discussed harshly and finally Elkann decided to remove the whole board.
They resigned but kinda forced to.
What can happen next:
For what Consob concernes, if the financial irregularities are confirmed and proven, there can be fines and even jail (depends on how intentional were these irregularities) for the former board's members.
Consequently, another trial will start for unfair and unethical conduct from the Italian Sport Court, more or less what happened in 2006 for Calciopoli, ended with their relegation.
On the other end, their are under investigation for mafia infiltration in their supporters groups and Camorra's affiliation, since Agnelli has been found repeatdly having direct relations with their members.
Bad times for them, good times for the whole football movement in Italy.

Cause the fraud is out in the open once again? Yes it paints a bad picture but now the lega is forced to fucken do something and maybe finally handle the problem. If handled in the right way serie a will win back a lot of credibility internationally if jube gets away once again will just be looked on as a crooked league.
Calciopoli did not destroy serie a neither will this but the leadership is in a difficult position where if they dont act they might lose their last tiny bit of credibility.
Although it s already very obvious that most would rather not punish anybody.

The Milanese teams are back, Lazio and Roma are improving, Napoli might win their first scudetto since the 80's and are playing good football, Atalanta have seen multiple CL runs, Fiorentina no longer flirts with the bottom of the table, Monza are a new side with a project that will see them become the new Sassuolo of the league, Palermo and Parma will be back in Serie A within a few years, etc.

I think people overestimate how this hurts the league. Of course it hurts TV rights if one of the top 3 historic clubs can't be shown, but tv rights by itself is a whole other conversation. This also won't hurt players coming to the league, it's going to hurt players going to juventus. It will hurt ticket sales (no derby d'italia, milan vs juve, napoli vs juve, etc) but that's a short-term hurdle that I think is jumpable. A more exciting league fixes this. Not to mention Serie A is seeing better attendance records than it was during juve's reign of terror a decade ago.

I'm afraid it's going to lead to a massive outflow of foreign fans, who are the ones who drive TV deals and big-named (non-Italian) sponsorships. These Juventus fans are much more likely to stop watching Serie A than they are to latch on to another team.

Will the league gain more fans long-term once Juve's tomfoolery is out of the league? I'm less optimistic. I think having a universally detested villain is actually good marketing for the league.

Exactly how I feel. Serie A is never getting its prior international status back. It will still be a footballing powerhouse but Italy is stuck in the old world. I don’t it see it modernizing at the rate of its competitors.

Juve should get everything they deserve and be given no quarter for the sake of the league’s perceived image. The league is already an economic disaster. I would rather it have some semblance of integrity.
