They stil have Moncada , who is the biggest scouting brain. Milan will not suddenly fall off from being our main competitor next year, they still are. Maldini simply failed on free signings like Origi and splashed 35M€ on belgian teen with 0 goals or assists.

This will shock Milan current players, as Maldini is idol for most of them, but I actually think this move might be the right one. You need changes after a season like Milan, almost zero support from purchased players. Pioli had no bench.

Lets see their next moves. If they are selling Maignan for profits then milanisti fanbase will riot .

Let's sit back and relax while other top clubs are crumbling around us.

For all these years I have deeply followed the world of football, one thing that I learn is scouting is overrated.

It's easy to spot a talent, what hard is working out the economic details to bring him in and developing/integrating the talent. Everyone knew Neymar, Vini, Mbappe... were talented since they were 14, not everyone had what it took to snatch these talents.

We scouted Coutinho when he was 16, look how it worked out. Also remember we always seemed to sign better talents under Ausillio, but our progress as a team back then was minimal, while Marotta only tries to sign boring experienced SA players or oldies freebies in other top leagues. Somehow Marotta has better results. Think about it.

Back to the topic, I think firing Maldini and Pioli will be more good than bad for Milan, unfortunately. These two have been riding their luck for long enough, now the luck has faded, time for them to go for the real pros. Imagine trying to buy RLC for 25m.

Brighton would disagree.

Nah their success is still mostly from having a platform to develop/integrate their players. Mitoma Caicedo... would have developed they way they did with another club.

Piloi is staying. He is a "yes" man, just like Inzaghi. Nobody will fire such a person, unless if they need a scapegoat.

And Leoa just extended with them. Wondering how he's feeling at the moment. No idea what's the plan now for the club, who's gonna replace those guys, what's their plan is gonna be etc.

Leao must be furious at the moment, specially if the club board will be timid with the reinforcements.

Don't have one.
If you don`t have a real sugar daddy you have no other possibility. There is no free lunch.
If you pay a player more than you can afford, you have 2 options. You weaken the team because you cannot pay all the pretendents whatever they want. Football is not NBA where someone like Lebron could fight for the title with a bunch of scrubs. Or the other possibility is "banter era". Moratti paid until he broke the camel`s back. Luckily we won the treble. But don`t forget, it was with emotions and a bit of luck, not only in CL but also in Serie A. It could have happen to lose both of them. But the banter era was guaranteed.

Sorry my friend, but a salary cap is the most important thing. You need to live within your means. Plain and simple.
Of course, you have to have a salary cap, but there is a difference between the salary cap of an owner with no ambition and an owner that has it. That's all i m talking about here. Milan as a club that has similar fans attendance and even better financial situation than inter CAN afford to pay bigger wages IF their owner wanted to, but they don't.

Apparently Tare is the favorite. If you want to be cheap get someone who is know to operate under cheap circumstances.

I bet he feels manipulated

I mean, he probably got what he wanted from the new deal, but I would assume maldini was the big part of why he signed.

But Maldini did fuck up last summer. Their mercato was catastrophic, everyone flopped. Only Thiaw can held his head high.

It seems Moncada and Tare are stepping in. Tare just left this morning. This could actually work, since Moncada scouted plenty of talents that are actually quality players now, and Tare is way more experienced than Maldini.

But it all leads to this. Maldini was vocal on transfer spend. Remember after UCL elimination. And americans are basically Moneyballing. Profits, income and try to spend as less as you can. Find talents.

They went the same way as Bayern. Fresh start. Only Pioli stayed :D

It’s literally Moneyball because Moneyball guy, Billy Beane is going to AC Milan.
