:proud:

I'm really touched to hear that Cafè Cordoba, the Colombian captain, has decided not to lead his national team in the upcoming Copa America. This is an extract taken from his latest interview with inter.it:

The Copa America kicks off soon. But you won't play in the competition...
"It's true. It's a decision I made with the national team coach so I can rest a bit and make good pre-season preparations with Inter. This will help me perform better next season, both for Inter and the (Colombian) national team."

:proud: I think his decision has gotta do with the fact that we need to play in the qualifying round of the CL. Over the last few days, we have learned 2 Inter players sacrificing their national team career for the club. :proud:

Forza e grazie Toldone & Cafè!!!

ADRIANO

J.ZANETTI :(

KILY (doesn't matter)

they will be playing copa america cup ..... but in the other hand .... if they manage to be back for this game, it wud also mean that their match fitness will be more better than the rest of the squad :D

when will the copa america end and when's our 1st leg of champions legue qualfier ??? sadly, adriano and j.zanetti won't be able to participate that much in our pre-season / camp ???? (not sure though)

hey ...

i found it guys ...

COPA AMERICA CUP (PERU) : JULY 6 - JULY 25

so, that means that they will only be missing the all important pre-season camp and many friendly matches.

I guess, it's a good news that copa america's final is on july 25 and not in august (as I had thought). I guess that J.Zanetti shud make it for the 1st leg, in this case, if they come back to milan safe (without injury problems :) )

and well.... don't want to hurt j.zanetti and adriano, BUT there are always surprises. Which could mean that they could join inter a bit earlier
(did i say that .... I do want j.zanetti to win a trophy though, he deserves it...)

They will be match fit and they would have played in official matches b4 the other players which is a plus. The only negative thing is that they have a higher chance of getting injured but so can the other players in practice matches and stuff so it sorta evens out. Hopefully all 3 make it, espeiclaly Javier Zanetti and Adriano :star:

Yeah, i was very touched by Cordoba's gesture. Him, Toldo and Oba have inter nailed in their heart. Not like others who won't have surgeries to miss out on captaining their NT (wink, wink!!!) That's what i call a player having inter in his heart not in his pocket.

and cristiano zanetti is still not born because his performances with us or with the national team clearly shows that he is just one season wonder (the term u guys always use).

i really cant believe i once called him a hammer..

Dont u think u threw ur objectivity out of the window there???!!

Like them or not Canna and Vieri have been class throughtout the years...if they had trouble with us during this year that doesnt take away anything from their career as players.Plus Canna has truly been the best defender for us towards the end of the year so maybe he is finally comfortabe in his role,or used to his injury.

Ziyad, i am a bobo fan regardless of being an inter fan.
I always admired Bobo and i love it when i am wearing my inter jersey with his name on the back.

Where did i mention he was not good to us through the past years...?
Look man, when i critisize someone a lot that doesnt mean i take away his credit for the past seasons..

I critisize Roy Keane a lot who has been the best central mdifielder in the world for a decade alot and i want him to retire and join the management. I critisize also Ryan Giggs and i urge Utd to buy a world class left winger. Does this mean i take off the credit they both did to United..?

The answer is simply no.
And i thank Vieri for what he did to us, and i wish him the best of luck in his new adventure.
I also thank Cannavaro , even though his average matches were more than his good matches. And i wish him good luck.

The problem with many people is that they still talk about Canna as if he is the old canna (5 and 6 yrs ago), i mean if Canna was another player. not a soccer idol, i am sure that most of the people here would argue and say he must depart. But its because he is cannavaro then people want him to stay.
Maybe i am wrong, but thats the way i see it.

Anyway i am sure with Canna, Vieri and Cristiano out will be better off. Each one is entitled to his/her decision, and days will tell if you are right, i am right or whomever is right.

I agree with u on the Vieri part because he doesnt seem to fit in the system last year...But as for Canna i never saw him as an idol or anything i just rate him on his work rate effort and effectivity on the pitch and i realy thought he was much better than last year and towards the end he became our best defender. He also showed his value to the Italian team and played well with them topo,I am sure that under Mancini he will do great and that his absence will be a loss to all of us in the long run.

I think we have different definitions of class. You could argue that Canna is class but you can't mention Vieri and class in the same sentence. A class player will never stop celebrating golas in front of the success-hungry and heartbroken fans. A class player will never 'stay' in the bus and refuse to get down because he isn't in the starting eleven and a class player will never ever prefer to watch a game from the stands rather than the bench because again he wasn't selected.
