Perisic is in peak fitness , still undisputed starter here for atleast until Gosens can be on his old level again so nobody will step on his starting spot atleast until March imo.

Would be crazy to have Ivan next year too ( but we probably lowball him) and he wants his pension fund fast ( Chelsea?)

Atleast we have him for our scudetto chase.

If Gosens regain his old form we dont need Perisic anymore. But he did a great job as Lwb, now he can find another club and play his most suited position lw.

Pure speculation on my part but I wonder if signing Gosens will have a negative impact on Perisic's form.
and risk a new contract from a new league's top team he so much wants?

Wonder if this effects Brozovic contract negotations.
dont think so. Brozovic looks like he wants to stay, everyone at the club thinks that way as well, while for Perisic I always had a feeling that he doesnt really wanna be here after this season. I am sure he'd rather play an attacking winger again, so my guess is he goes to England or Bayern, if they would even want him again.

If there are any clubs I see him being really good and successful at when next season starts - Lyon (maybe don't have the money for his wages), Bayern, West Ham - it all depends if he wants to play a lot or if he wants to be at a big club.

He deserves a standing ovation on his last day at our club for real.

If anything, it might elevate Perisic even more.

I really don't get why would Perisic take it negatively.

Yeah, Perisic would take it personal instead and gain more power. He’s not Icardi type of player.

Biasin says the club will still offer an extension to Perisic. I can't see us offering more than 3-3.5 net and also can't see Perisic accepting. They may offer him a longer contract length (3 years instead of 2) but i doubt it will be enough to convince him to stay.

Why would they offer Perisic an extension when Gosens is coming here? I don't think any of them accept a reserve role for the other.

Perisic will still be the starter untill end of season, you dont change a winning team and perisic has been integral this season. Gosens is for next season, he will just be eased in over a longer period when he recovers from his injury like this and then having gelled with the team early than if he was signed in the summer.

I doubt the club ever intended/hoped for to perisic to extend, he is 33 and on very high wages for a financially strapped team like Inter. Sure if he would accept a 50% salary reduction for a year more, the club would take it. But realistically he has performed well enough to get a year or two at a reasonably big club in england at higher salary than at Inter.

Why would Perisic stay at Inter at a lower salary and be second choice? He already won the scudetto, which is the maximum of what Inter can realistically win (hopefully twice after this season). If there was ever a player it made sense for to have one last new experience, it would be perisic.

Perisic could stay if no one satisfies his 6m net salary demand then he has no better choice than accepting our lower offer. Let's not forget Pero will be 33yo and is demanding 3+ years contract. Way way much for any teams except the Arabs and MLS, which he ofc does not accept.

Imho he ll catch an offer like this but it will most likelybe at a midtable or worse epl club...
If he wants to win more trophies he ll have to settle for less..

I always considered Perisic to be an intelligent, down-to-earth guy. €6m for 3 years is fucking mental, even taking into account the usual negotiation tactics etc.

I will be incredibly surprised if he can find ANY club on the planet that would even pay him, let's say, €4m for 2 years. Don't get me wrong, Perisic is a great player who would be an excellent squad player for many clubs, including us of course. But he doesn't have that star name value, especially at this point in his career.

I think Inter's offer is very reasonable, but Perisic won't accept it right now. Maybe, after the end of season, when he sees that nobody will agree to his demands, he might change his mind.
The only club, which can give him 6mln for 3 years is Newcastle, I believe.

He's the only player at our club that won CL, right? He could actually think he deserves the money.

Don't get offended by the salary demands of players heading to free agency. They are just testing the market, the first being your current club. If our offer is 2x 4m, I'm totally certain he can get that from multiple EPL clubs. Then it comes down to what Perisic wants because those EPL clubs might not be what Perisic wants. Let's see.

Perisic and Gosens on the left wing would be LIT. Maybe even too lit (given the money invested in that flank).

Thing is he isn't willing to go to any EPL club. He wants to go to a top one. I can only imagine Chelsea (if Tuchel is still there) and Tottenham (because of Conte) being interested. The issue is Chelsea have a strict policy of not offering more than 1-year contract to 30+ players and Levy prefers getting players with resale value.

In Italy i could only imagine him at Milan but they don't offer high salaries. In Germany the only teams that can afford him are Bayern and Dortmund but the guy who wanted him at Bayern is gone (Flick) and Perisic isn't the type of signings Dortmund usually make. In Spain i can only imagine him at Atletico but not sure they need him. He isn't enough of a star for PSG to go after him.
