Gosens would replace him....and he would do a great job actually. He is too good to be left on the bench in my opinion, both are.

I prefer that Gosens starts and Perisic reverts to the right or even plays as a SS next to Dzeko / Lautaro in some games.

No, i don't.
He should have not said what he said about importante players getting extended asap by the clubs etc..
In first place, why he didn't have this kind of sublime year in 2019 season? why specifically when his contract ends? There is a little amount of players who you can trust and he is not one of those.
Can't have the same salary as Lautaro (who score tons of goals) and Brozovic (who is the machine of the team)

We already have Dimarco and Gosens, so overpay him is a big mistake.
Why would he have lower salary than Lautaro,Brozo or Cahla? He is our best player right now,by a mile. If they wont to pay him he will leave. Fair and square.

That wasn't my point. We need a reserve LWB if we get rid of Perisic. You can't only rely on Gosens, who is often injured. The only in-house options would be Dimarco, who Inzaghi doesn't view as a LWB, and Darmian, who is barely passable on the left.

Both can be subs on the left, but depending on how reliable Gosens can be injury wise is a different discussion.

His injury is precisely why we need to keep Perisic.

I think we should keep Perisic regardless, i would try him on the right and Gosens on the left long term.

If I’m Perisic’s agent or Perisic himself and I hear strong rumours that injury prone Dybala is being offered more than my client, I would advise him to hold out as well.

Dybala at 28-29 is not offering what Perisic is on a consistent basis. Yes, Dybala is younger, is a forward, can score goals, etc. But on the pitch, Perisic is more valuable and simply more available for the team.

The difference between his demand and our offer has already well spent on great deals like Dalbert, Caicedo, Lazaro, Kolarov, etc.

Let him go, I'm confident that Marotta can convince Kolarov to stay. Plus, we can always call back Dalbert. I'm sure Inzaghi will be very happy when he can freely choose between Gosens, Kolarov and Dalbert.

As good as Perisic is, giving 6 M/year for 33 years old winger is just absurd no matter if he is currently the best player in the league. Nobody knows if he plays top of his game for his last fat contract or when his age catches up.
And the current situation is the great one. We have the second left WB in the league at his prime age who must work hard to earn his starting spot. Finger crossed Gosens will start next season stronger after looking up to Perisic. Meanwhile, the best WB cannot play hardball mindlessly because his backup is more than ready to replace him. Again finger crossed the competition for our starting LWB keeps lasting.

I think he is our best player this season and deserve new contract.

But I also think Perisic fantastic form is mainly cause he is on his last year of contract and there is now Gosens to give him competition, so he has to give his all to get that last big money contract.

I also don’t like when players start to give ultimatums to the club via media and make it public. Or at least don’t do it when you just won something and be a party pooper, that shows you do it mostly for the money. Zanetti took many pay cuts just to stay at the club and that also helped to team. We can clearly see that is not the case with Perisic as he has never loved Inter that much.

But I have to say he has been true professional and he has worked his socks off and I also think Perisic have given a lot for this club eaven when he wanted to leave and did leave for Bayern for a year.

But if we pay players like Vidal, Dzeko, Sanchez big money and they show 1/3 of what Perisic is showing I think we should just pay the guy! 6m it is if you ask me!

Our owner is broke. They cant even pay 2 kilos of bananas let alone 6 M/year Perisic wanted. Thanks for your dedication, Perisic!

Just give him the money. He deserves it.

There are some (hopefully baseless) rumours since his outburst about him joining Milan, Man Utd or Juventus. That would be tragic.

If Moratta offers him €6 mil the forum will be jumping up and down when his form drops a season from now. €4.5 mil for a 33 year old is more then fair.
As good a season as he has had we are in the position to offer over the top wages.
If he doesn't accept the contract we have gosens and we have room to play with in the budget.

Thats also true! Kostic contract ends 2023, maybe we can strike a deal with Frankfurt swap with Lazaro :)
