Fun/Sad fact; Bernardeschi scored more goals in his last season with Firentina, than in 5 seasons with Juve.
Bernardeschi was so highly rated at Fiorentina that GdS had made this frontpage

If Perisic doesn't extend the last thing we should do is signing another experienced player with a high salary. Better save money and sign a youngster as Gosens backup.

Bernardeschi was awesome at Fiorentina. Many people, including me, wanted him here when we were still playing a 4-3-3. However, he didn't get enough playing time at Juve and they were constantly jerking around with formations that don't suit him. He's completely finished as a footballer. Let him go to a club like Lazio, where he belongs.

I think he will join Spurs. Why? I believe he's a serious and ambitious player. He's won in Germany and Italy and he knows this is his last chance to experience playing in England too.

At his age, moving to a new team and adapting to a new league - supposedly the hardest league in the world, is a massive challenge. That's the kind of challenge I expect a player of Perisic's elite mentality would love to tackle.

The money doesn't hurt either.

Remember how Kulusevski was shit in rube and guy is now killing in PL. Maybe we resurrect Berna, guy has tools, his biggest problem for me is his mentality. Thats why he could be good here cause everyone here, except Perisic, have shitty mentality😎

And Lukaku was shit at United but scored loads at Inter. Yeah, it's hard to say, I don't doubt Bernadeschis ability, but his mental state. Also can we slot him in 352? In that case I'd rather have him here than Mhiki.

But if he can't, don't even bother making him a LWB

I'm perfectly OK w/ letting Perisic get his final pay day somewhere else, but not if we're going to replace him with a far lesser player also on big wages.
i.e. Vidal > Mkhitaryan

honestly, I get why we want to keep Perisic, but we also need to be pragmatic. Losing Perisic will save us like 10-12mil a year in costs, and we already have IMHO a decent replacement for him in Gosens. While many of us want to keep Perisic, its also hard to deny this is the attitude (e.g. keep older players on longer contracts) that got Inter into its current conundrum

Then we need to go out and find a replacement for him (we need a reserve LWB), which will cost us a transfer fee and wages.

Unless you're advocating signing Bernardeschi and asking him to play a position he's never played before.
