I like Marin Palermo but lol with Argentina his record speaks for itself like Cafe just mentioned...and LOL talking him over Milito. Your Forwards should be Milito, Higuain Messi, Tevez and Aguero......more than enough and are the best players out there for you.

Maradona is so fucking stupid...Inter have 4 argentine players and all of them this season are playing matches of their lifes and still only Samuel will probably play at WC.Milito is better than Igauain i am 100% sure.(i dont't even want to compare Milito with Palermo & Aguero) If Milito played for Real Madrid this season beside CR7 he would scored 35 goals.

Trash talk all you want about Lippi, but at least he is loyal to the most decorated players for his National Team. Almost 150 caps for his country and probably plays more than anyone else on that team for his club team and yet he is left off.

Not even Lippi would do something like this...

Jonas Gutierrez is, as you may or may not know, a hell of a player! I remember him from some time back, when he was at Mallorca. He could play for teams much, much better than crappy Newcastle.

But that's besides the point, Zanetti has to have a place in that NT, and would be a likely starter in any of the positions he can play - if he only had a coach with a brain...

He still has been playing in the first devision in England, until he is playing top tier football he shouldnt have a place in the NT...also i saw him many times with Argentina, he is an average player to me.

There isn't any excuse for not taking Cambiasso and Zanetti in the WC. Maradona is on drugs, that's for sure. These guys are absolute beasts, and they play with their heart 90 minutes. They really deserved it...

Lippi would love a player like Zanetti for Italy. The guy has no ego and never creates any trouble. And of course on the pitch he is brilliant and works very hard.

From Lippi's brief stint at Inter, it seemed that he liked Zanetti.

Walter Samuel,
Maradona not sorry for Inter pair
Thursday 13 May, 2010
Argentina boss Diego Maradona insists he doesn't regret choosing not to include Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso in his preliminary World Cup squad.

Maradona has been criticised for ignoring the pair after they both played a crucial part in getting Inter to the Champions League Final which will be held in Madrid on May 22.

Speaking to Radio Del Plata, Maradona said: “I am only sorry for Fernando Gago. He was one of my boys, but he played too little this year and that's why I didn't call him up.

“There is nothing strange and nothing to explain about Zanetti's exclusion. It was already decided a long time ago. And as for Cambiasso, it's the same story.”

Finally Maradona revealed that he intends to stay on in charge of the Albiceleste after the World Cup this summer.

“This is the idea, and since I took charge I started a plan not just thinking about the World Cup in South Africa, but also the Copa America,” he concluded.

Hopefully when we achieve the treble, that nutcase Maradona would have to take a serious look into recalling our captain.

Well I guess he overheard me and decided to act swiftly. Fucking Idiot!

Walter Samuel,
Moratti 'upset' at Argentina snub
Thursday 13 May, 2010
Massimo Moratti reveals he was “upset” at seeing Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso cut from Argentina’s World Cup squad.

Diego Armando Maradona left the two Inter stars out of his preliminary list for the trip to South Africa.

“I was really quite upset when I heard about it, knowing how much these two players care about representing their country,” said the Nerazzurri President.

“Of course they deserved to be in the squad. It was truly a strange decision considering the incredible season that both of them are having.

“I am pleased for Diego Milito and Walter Samuel, but the great disappointment of seeing the other two left at home remains.”

Milito is second in the Capocannoniere charts with 21 Serie A goals this season and proved instrumental in lifting the Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League Final.

Yet he is one of those likely to be left out of the final 23-man squad for Argentina.

and he would love the fact that Zanetti is 36.

and i dont think any current WC coach except maradona would have excluded a player like zanetti from his squad.who dosent want a player who can play anywhere on the pitch gives 200 percent every game and got good leadership qualities.and he has been labeled as indispensable to a squad who are on the verge on winning the treble.anyways Maradona wont change his decision

Walter Samuel,
Zanetti is very unlucky. Under Bielsa he was one of the most important players and was the vice captain after Ayala. He quit, and Pekerman took over for WC 06. Pekerman based his tactics around the overrated Sorin, and even made him captain. There was no space for Zanetti and he was cut.

This time, again Zanetti was a key player for Basile and was deservedly the captain. Basile decided to quit, crack head Maradona comes in and decides to play centre backs at fullback. No space for Zanetti again.

In lighter news there is a show called 'UEFA Champions League Magazine' every two weeks or so.
Anyway they Interviewed Zanetti,Eto'o and Cambiasso.
Zanetti was asked to describe some players in one word.
I can't remember them all but I'll try and remember.
Júlio Cesar : Security.

Maicon : Tractor.

Lucio : Tough

Samuel : Wolf

Zanetti : Captain

Chivu : Solid

Cambiasso : Tactical

Sneijder : Imagination

Pandev : Versitile

Eto'o : Important

Milito : Goal-Machine.

Good answers from the captain although most of those could be said about himself.
