Felipe Melo being in the form of his life during that period gave a false impression of how good that team was defensive wise. Once Melo turned to shit and midfield didn't provide the necessary defensive cover defenders showed their true quality. Miranda continued to play like a good cb while Murillo showed how limited he was as a cb.
