Jiangsu Suning close on Miranda
By Football Italia staff

Joao Miranda is reportedly close to a deal with Inter’s sister club Jiangsu Suning, who have overtaken Monaco in the race.

The 34-year-old Brazilian is not part of Coach Antonio Conte’s plans, as confirmed when the tactician spoke individually about every defender at his disposal during a Press conference, never mentioning Miranda’s name,

Monaco had been the favourites for his signature, while a return to Brazil was also a possibility.

According to Sportitalia, Miranda has now opened up to the option of Jiangsu Suning and is in advanced talks for a salary worth over €5m per year.

There are confirmations from Sky about Miranda and Jiangsu.

So Miranda wants to cash in big time. Can't blame him, he's quite old already so getting a 3 year deal is a big thing. Hopefully we can fetch 6-7m€ fee it's been rumored.

I doubt it's going to be over 6m as that would trigger CSL luxury tax rule.I am expecting a transfer fee similar to Eder's.

What`s the CSL luxury tax rule? Any limitations regarding the transfer fee? What are the amounts - the €6m you were mentioning? Dollars or Euro? :D Yes Drago, you are right:

Inter centre-back Joao Miranda has agreed terms with Jiangsu Suning and is expected to complete a €5m transfer.

Multiple sources including Sportitalia, ANSA and more all note Miranda had a meeting with club directors this morning and gave the all-clear to the Chinese move.

Jiangsu Suning and Inter are both owned by the Suning Group, so it will be simple to get the paperwork completed.

It’s reported Miranda will sign a three-year contract. The 34-year-old Brazil international had also been linked with Monaco.

If he wasn't 34 already, Ausilio would probably be tempted to insert a buy back clause.

I'm guessing (hoping) we paid him nothing to terminate his contract early, and Jiangsu will give him a bigger signing on fee to make up for it? I don't see how it makes any financial sense to us otherwise.

CalcioeFinanza has answered your question.

Miranda Inter - «FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached the agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with Joao Miranda, which will agree with Jiangsu Suning. The Brazilian defender, at Inter since 2015, in four seasons with the Nerazzurri shirt has collected 121 appearances and a 1 goal. To Joao Miranda a "good luck" for the future by the whole club ".

With this note the club announced the end of the experience in the Nerazzurri of the Brazilian central defender, who leaves Inter for a new adventure in China. Miranda's farewells registered a loss of just over 2.9 million euros for Inter .

However, the player had a budgetary cost of just under 9.5 million euros a year considering the depreciation rate and the gross salary, the latter amounting to just under 6.5 million euros. For this reason, the operation generates a positive impact on the Inter accounts of 6,475,000 euros .

Let’s take a step back to understand what the luxury tax is. The General Sports administration implemented this tax to avoid a transfer market bubble. If a club of the first two series want to acquire a foreign player spending more than 45m yuan (around €6 million) they are forced to pay a tax of the same amount (100% of the transaction). The money collected will be poured into a fund with the goal to finance the development of the Chinese football. For domestic purchases, however, the threshold is even lower, 20 million yuan (about €2.5m). So, if a player purchased from a European championship is paid 50 million, the Chinese club will have to pay another 50m in taxes.

So Miranda joined Jiangsu on a free transfer. Even worse than i thought. It's so nice of Inter to make yet another favour to Jiangsu.
