Correa is this season’s biggest disappointment.

That's why better buy someone not Coach asked....

He Reminds me Nainggolan for Spalletti ....

Hakan, Dzeko, and Dumfries are Marotta transfer instead Inzaghi request.. then Correa the request player is boom :yao:

Correa more expensive than Gosens / Dumfries / Hakan / Dzeko :awyeah:

in the end he'll score another really important goal and people will be off his back for another month

Injuries can (obviously) be extremely detrimental to a players success. The bottom line is that with the amount of time he's spending on the sidelines, his Inter career may be in jeopardy. While we're all absolutely sick to fucking death of Dzeko and Lautaro and crying out for a forward with pace and technique, Correa hasn't been great when fit either.

I'm of the opinion that he needs time, and with time, he could become a valuable contributor. But that's the whole point - time is running out.

He's set to return against Salernitana? In 2 weeks time? Realistically, he will come off the bench for his first 2 or 3 games back as the last thing we want to do is rush him and risk re-aggravating his injury. He will likely spend another few games as a sub, maybe starting one and coming off after an hour, before he's reliably ready to start. By that stage it'll be fucking mid-April.

And this is not taking into account the time he needs on the pitch to actually acclimatise to his teammates because everyone has noted that he often looked to be on a completely different wavelength. This also not taking into account the fact that he probably won't start even when he is fully fit because Inzaghi loves Dzeko so fucking much.

Injuries have really, really hampered him and his chances of long term success at this club. He was always a weird luxury signing, not a bad one, but I can imagine him being sacrificed as soon as next season to accommodate other signings. Sadly we'll probably loan him out paying 80% of his wages because we couldn't sell food to a starving man.

I hope there's some interest in him from La Liga and we get like 10-15mil salvaged.

Think about how long we kept Sensi here, his output and how we expected him to come good.

What makes you think that after a season, that we will look to replace Correa with a player that can actually play?

He'll be here for a couple of more years and all we will get from him are a handful of games here and there between injuries.

Sitting here waiting for him to turn into some cult hero where he comes back from injury and saves our season.

In reality he'll score a brace against Salernitana and break himself during the international break.

We have to give this guy a chance it's not his fault he's been plagued with injury, I never understood the signing when it happened (just don't see how he fits in system) however I still need to give the fella a chance. If Inzaghi believes, so do I.

Whether or not this guy can stay fit and find form will be a big determining factor for whether we can get things back on track. Its not even so much that I view him as a savior, we just simply need to get a real rotation going and give Dzeko some fucking rest. Inzaghi has shown he is comfortable starting Correa with either Dzeko or Lautaro, however he has seemed hesitant to play Sanchez and Martinez together from the start. Correa also has a skillset no one else in the squad has. If you look at our best performances so far this season it’s probably been Roma away and Napoli at home, both featured Correa. Not to mention the Udinese and Verona performances where he directly won us points. I really don’t think Correa has been poor here he’s just gotten injured everytime he getting in form.

He is not a high frequency scorer but he does do something for our overall play. Only he and Sanchez really have any flair and Sanchez has been looking off the pace recently, which I think is because he’s playing more then he really should. I think we are underrating what having an actual athlete that’s 27 instead of always relying on at least one 33-36 can do for us if he’s able to take on significant minutes. He also has a fairly decent record against big teams. Let’s hope he stays fit this time.

I think the other thing about Correa is his style of play will force us to improve. Correa isn't going to spam crosses into the box without thinking. He's going to hold the ball, he's going to try to take defenders on, and he'll pull tricks out of a hat. He's not always successful, but it should help open things up. We're far too easy to defend when we have Dzeko and Martinez prowling around the box, waiting for a cross from Perisic or Dumfries.
