I never liked him, he just seems odd. He doesnt score much he doesnt assist much, he is sort of a second striker. He is 28 this year and I just cant see what he brings that others worth less than him cannot bring. He has some speed and technique but other than that I simply do not expect goals when he plays, his attacking threat just feels so average at best.

He's not a striker, he's a disruptor of defenses. Don't expect goals from this guy, but expect him to cause them.

We all know he's not great, but he has a role to play, and that's mostly as a sub. It was poor planning by the management, we already have Sanchez and their plan was to get rid of him in the winter. Backfired, because it was a stupid plan.

Alexis is miles better than Correa in that department. I think we paid too much for Joaquin believing he was going to be a starter.

@Il Drago accurately described how we ended up with him.
Effectively he's Dzeko's rotation pal.

I thought it would be much more serious than that, but he's still missing the most important run of games we'll have this season.

For all those who believe in jinxing stop reading here :D but imo we were extremely lucky with injuries and Covid thus far, as well as Afcon, unlike Atalanta, Napoli, ACM, Rube (Chiesa). Correa is not a starter and this is not that long.

If Inter and chance can "protect" 7-8 top players from any long-term injury then our results will be a proper reflection of what we can do imo

Us playing without Barella vs Liverpool is vomit inducing, imagine Rube without Chiesa for the whole of the season.

You ain't shit as a player on the pitch, but you are useless for the coach when he needs to call a squad and for the management when building the roster (you can't really be depended on if your injuries make you being unavailable for extended periods of time).

Injuries are sometimes about the luck but definitely not always. And I'm not saying one should blame the player per se, but the end result is what matters (is the player available for the coach or not, can the player play).
Sorry, in Canada you ain't shit means you are nothing :)

So I agree with what you said that's why Sensi and Correa are useless in my eyes despite what they show on the pitch.

i am waiting for Di Marzio (Sky Sport Italy) to confirms this. GDS seems meh.

The idea isnt really bad but could still Inter searching more alternatives? Imo Diego Costa, Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani etc could be a good idea, even they have more multiple experience than Caicedo.

Inter and Italy need more players like them to increase exposure, marketing of the Serie-A itself.

I like the idea of Correa, on paper at least. He offers a different set of skills to any player we have.

Sanchez is great at making a pocket of space for himself to pick out a pass but he can barely dribble past a defender anymore. At this stage he's much closer to a playmaker than anything. Correa is the only guy we have who can score the kind of goal he did against Udinese, and that's a really useful weapon to have in our arsenal.

Leao has been really good for Milan recently with a comparable way of playing - dribbling inside from the left, connecting with teammates and creating space for others, or to take shots himself. Leao is a lot faster and more powerful though.

Problem for Correa is there just doesn't seem much use for that specific tool with any regularity. We really tend to have too much of the ball and he's not that fast on the counter either. On top of that, he's obviously been injured when we really could've used his skill set.

Unfortunately some blame has to lie with the player as well, not for his injuries, but for his seeming inability to adjust the way he's playing most of the time. He's technical and intelligent enough to make simple, yet important contributions, like his little one-two's against Roma and Juve which both played a role in the build-up to a goal. This is what I'd expect more from him but he seems a bit clueless and too eager to dribble.

Hopefully he'll get a decent run in the team when he's back from injury.

Yeah, nice tool box for this team but like I've said that same thing for weeks, we don't need that tool box too much. Or at least we don't yet know how to use it properly.

Maybe in euro football he could be more useful as opponents won't defend with 10 man in the box like they do in Serie A.

His best moments were against defensive teams, also his skills contributes to breaking through low blocks. In no way is he worth what we paid but we should give him the whole season at least before making a full evaluation.

Watch highlights from Verona and Udinese again. He had lots of space on both occasions.

I wonder if we can get rid of this fucker?
He's decent enough for 3-4th forward, we have other pressing issues but it'd definitely help if he could get an offer. Don't see anyone potentially interested that could make his turn head their way.

I only see a market for him in Spain tbh. He’s good enough for 3rd/4th forward imo but his injury record isn’t providing any reassurances. Anyway we may as well get used to having him for another season at least because no one is offsetting his cost in our books.

Not sure about that. He was officially on the market from Lazio since June and the only other offer they had received was 20m plus bonuses from Arsenal. And that was after a decent season of Correa, not one full of injuries.
