This guy is clearly a target for us. How realistic of a target remains to be seen, but it's enough to warrant a thread.

11 goals in 14 league games for Lille this year. Contract expires in summer 2025.

He'd be an interesting choice but surely the competition for him is too strong?
Barcelona, PSG, Man Utd, looking for strikers, for starters..

I have been a fan since the first moment we were linked with. It will be hard but i hope he chooses Inter in the end.

Don't have one.
Yes to him, but hopefully as a correa replacement. Wouldn't like if we sell thuram to make room for him, we wouldn't improve at all, in fact given thuram current form we could end up in a worse position. And i m saying all this coz if thuram continues in the current form, i m sure there will temptations to sell him if david chooses us.

We need to hope that "first moment" plays a part here like it did with Thuram.

We don't need to sell Thuram to get David. Another thing is will we sell Thuram anyway. But it's not about not being able to afford David.

I know we are not in an emergency like in the past, correa and arna salary can easily cover whatever david is asking for, all i m saying is I know how marotta operates and so far we were quite satisfied with having two competent strikers and other options being whatever fells in our lap.

That's why I'm saying bringing david can easily create a scenario where we feel quite satisfied with our attacking line-up and then psg sends us 60-70 mil offer for thuram, and we just accept it, coz fuck it, it's huge plusvalenza and we already have a replacement.

Hopefully Barcelona won't be able to afford him...

SportItalia: the Nerazzurri are serious about trying to sign the Canadian and will be in the race right until the end.

Inter will do everything they can to stay in the race for the Canadian international’s signature.

I get what you mean. But I want to believe in such case if a big offer comes and owners push for a sale and we end up selling (player is fine moving from Inter), we would replace the guy. Not with the same money, but we would replace him with a proper player nevertheless.

Last I had read about Barcelona and David is he's on their list but they have doubts if he's a good fit for their system.

Barca will sign him and then immediately pressure him to take a wage cut to help the club
Doomed

I have seen/read the links like some of you but I see him as a free alternative to higher profile targets that require a transfer fee. I don't see the fit

Talking about free alternatives

Dybala’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in June 2025, and according to Gazzetta, Roma are ready to release La Joya for free next month.
Both Gazzetta and Gianluca Di Marzio, however, claim Dybala is unsure about moving to Galatasaray midway through the season. The Italian journalist adds that Dybala will only change his mind if Roma openly confirm their desire to sell him.

Dybala will automatically extend his €7m-a-year contract for one more season if he completes seven more appearances this season, playing at least 45 minutes in each game.

Roma have not opened talks for a new deal, suggesting that the Argentinean is not part of their long-term plans.

FIF, I think even those who wanted Dybala at Inter can agree that it`s better to give 6M to David than 7M to Dybala?

Not interested in Dybala, personally. Too injured and misses too many games - unless of course he'd drop his wage demands and accept being 3rd or 4th choice. Maybe then he wouldnt be injured so much.

he is done we wanted him 10 years ago..... and he hasn't gotten any better. I get he is free but he was also free 3-4 seasons ago. Let it go and have our scouts actually look at new players...

He won't come here with his 6 + million a year wage demands and be a bench player. Only makes sense if Thuram leaves which I hope he doesn't.

Realistically, though, which other club would give him the starting spot? Lewandowski doesn't seem to slow down, and can they even afford him given their financial restriction? Not sure about how it is now, but they were only able to register Olmo because Christensen was injured. Most teams that can afford him play with 1 striker, it makes more sense for him to come here given that we play with 2 strikers.
