Were the critics this harsh with Pep when he lost out to Monaco with Man city?

Just asking? I somehow feel like he did not get this much shit.

People were mocking Man City's overpriced defensive players. Guardiola not so much, but there was some banter.

The main criticism comes to how United and specially Mourinho approached the match, last season with City i don´t think they were so fierce but still, the criticism is deserved.

Also the 2 things Mourinho said last night, the thing about still being in the cup, and that being eliminated it´s nothing new to United are
unbelievable to me, specially the 2nd one, it´s something an outside analyst could say and it´d be a fair point, but certainly not an united player/coach.

José, who always took pride in having a winning mentality, spoke lose a resigned loser.

I'll never say I'm disappointed in him out of respect, but I can say that I'm shocked.

Oh please, when Pep lost a game to Porto with Bayern he said it was the medicial teams fault and even fired a doctor who had been working there for 30 years.

Pep never gets shit.

Fellaini shouldn't have been in the starting line-up in the first place. He just came back from an injury if I remember correctly. Besides of that he was crap, but then again Pogba was crap either but the difference is that Pogba is a bitch and he's weak mentally.

Mourinho was let down by the players last night.

Don't blame the players. Mourinho was let down by Mourinho. Why is the dude contiuening to try to take over teams who have or will buy superstars with primadonna personality. This dude needs warrior with a type of mentality that are ready to sacrifice everything for him. Look at players he had with Inter or Chelsea(not the latest team he had). They have this die for Mourinho mentality. Even Ibra has said several times how he would die for Mourinho and this was only after working 1 year with him at Inter? Crazy. Sneijder thanked him at the Balon D'or. A benchplayer was crying when he left Inter. And didn't essien always call him daddie? How about Drogba?

You don't get this shit with players like Ronaldo or Pogba.

On another note, Mourinho need a defense which is actually good. Uniteds are mediocre except Bailly and Valencia. 2 out of 4 is not good.

Its a different era now though, the fact that players go out to run after a goddam ball is work enough.

I don't see how someone can win with players like Smalling, Ashley Young, Fellaini, Lingard and Rashford.

Not that big difference compared to winning CL with Chivu, Lucio, Pandev and Muntari.

The players you named are not bad players, just like the players I named aren't. Funny thing with United, the big buys - Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Mikhtaryan (before transfered) - are the ones that don't deliver. Which could be also contributed to some bad tinkering on Mourinho's part.

Now if you want to make a shit scale, some of them are more shit and smelly then the others.

"Big" guys. Sanchez has been so fucking bad since he came to Man U and Lukaku's ability with the ball is so fucking bad. Out of Icardi, Kane, Morata and Lukaku I'd rate Lukaku as worst.

Now you have these overpriced players who think the world revolves around them. Why would they bleed for Mourinho and his tactics? Old Chelsea, Porto, Inter all had die hard, no nonsense players who'd die on the pitch.

I respect Mourinho for what he did with Inter. But I'am honest, I enjoy his failures since he left. Spending all that money and recieving criticism for the way his teams play......:yao:

I'd rate Icardi was worst but then again we won't agree with each other.

Lukaku's touch is inconsistent but his dribbling, passing is good.

Also for now Morata shouldn't be even in debate.

Lucio and Chivu shit? Really? Really??
Muntari was shit offensively but he was a solid defensive midfielder. He'd be a definite starter today but surely he was frustrating back then when compared to the rest of the team and their technical ability.
Pandev was not a bad player but not what we'd call Inter material. He delivered nonetheless. I'm pretty sure he'd be very useful in today's Inter as well.

And Chivu, Muntari and Pandev weren't really starters iirc. Just circumstantial.

Lineup was meant to be: JC; Maicon, Samuel, Lucio, Chivu/Zanetti; Stankovic/Zanetti, Motta, Cambiasso;Sneijder;Milito, Eto'o.

Muntari was a terrible player offensively, defensively and just all around. He should have never played for Inter. Lucio and Chivu declined as they got older i wouldn't say they were shit. Chivu coming up was one of the most promising defenders there is, good on the ball, can play CB, LB and DM and can take free kicks, at Inter again treble year was good but declined rapidly, respect to him though as he suffered a terrible injury but still gave his all.

Pandev did well in the treble year, other than that he was a shadow of the player he was at Lazio, not starting Inter material but he gave what he was able to.

Lucio was amazing and a big reason why we won the UCL.His game at Stamford Bridge against Drogba is one of the best defensive performances i have seen.He was everywhere.I had never seen Drogba in a defenders pocket like he was that night. And Drogba was at his peak at that stage. And he got bossed physically by Lucio :proud:.I dont think any other defender has physically manhandled Drogba like Lucio did that night.:proud::proud:

Chivu imo had 1 good season in Serie A and that was the first season under Capello at Roma as CB with Samuel in 03-04.He got injured for the next season and from there onwards he was never the Chivu who had impressed so much at Ajax.Later on he got injured some more and wore that helmet.Always seemed to make some calamitous fouls as LB and was probably our weakest player in the final in 2010.

This is like some illuminati sjw tactics of not being able to u read simple sentences.

None of the players you or I named....are bad. None. Not even Muntari. These are all actually good players. No, none of them is Messi or CR of their position, but they can still win european cups (yup, they both did) or play some good football (or be integral parts of the team). Every good team has their quality players in it, we are just so used of watching top tier teams that we don't appreciate the so called work horses like Lingard or Chivu.

There is lot of truth in what you said. It's on coach to bring the best out of players and for most part Jose is failing with few exceptions.

Players like Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Zlatan, Bailly, Lukaku were signed after having great seasons but for most part they are underwhelming.

Players like Rashford, Martial would walk into any squad in the league, they are very talented players and they even justified their position by scoring or assisting at superb rate, then Jose fucked it up by playing them as RW.

For all the shit Lingard gets, he saved Jose's ass on so many occasions. Fergie, Van Gaal, Jose all rated him and played him. Obvious whether the player is good or not when 3 of the greatest managers rates a player. Also Lingard has contributed nearly 20 goals and assists already with superb mins per G+A record. Scored 2 goals against Arsenal, winner against Chelsea, 2 goals against Burnley to make it 2-2 from 2-0 down, when Watford were all over us and score was 3-2, he dribbled from own half to score and make it 4-2.

He had superb season, not sure how anyone can even question his place in the squad.

Smalling was part of the defense with best or second best defensive record for last 2-3 seasons. Only players who played many games in that record is De Gea and Smalling.

Well to put in very simple terms, Jose is failing to get the best out of players. People here can go on and on about how Inter were warriors and Chelsea first stint players were all warriors, they all are missing simple point. Coaches peak and decline just like players. Some adapts, some don't. You can't go on and on about Inter 2010 forever. Since that happened, Inter warriors and Jose mastermind both didn't do much in CL.

Noticed a post regarding how the game has changed since 2012 on reddit, before then teams were punished more for making mistakes which suited Mourinho's tactics more. Now teams are making less defensive mistakes meaning attackers need to be better to compensate

Apparently that's fake quote.
