I'll always welcome him at Inter. No matter what he does at other clubs like United, what results he has or failure he faces.
José lead Inter to its best, he motivated our players like no one else could. Even if he would come back and would not lead to us to success, I would be forever grateful for what he did to this club in the past. Grande Mourinho.

I'm sorry but that's pure horsecrap. He's the best in the business at that. The thing about tactics is that they're more of a short term solution. You still need individual ability, footballing philosophy, and an excited locker room to win games. It's those other factors that are lacking in the teams he coaches.

Once you lose the locker room, you shouldn't be there anymore. But let's not take away from his strengths.

If Jose ever decides he wants to come back and the situation is right, I would welcome him with open arms. End of the day, we got to witness the treble achieved and I really do not care what anyone says, it would not have happened without Mourinho. He brought success to this club and the ultimate joy to us all when we watched Javier lift that champions league trophy.

I don't like Real Madrid, Chelsea or Man United but when Jose coached them I always wished them well because I wish Jose well and want to see him be a champion everywhere he goes because that's what he is.

I must disagree.

Tactics are definitely not "a short term solution". Tactics are what gives shape to a team. If played right, they can make eleven players move and (almost) think as one, thus making them look better than the mere sum of their individual skills. If you lack a clear tactical plan, you will always depend on individual moments of brilliance and that's what I would call "a short term solution" (we Inter fans should know that).

Mourinho has always been a "demolition worker" (no offence intended since there's none), rather than a builder. His teams have always preyed on the opponents' mistakes, chocking their build-up and then springing forward to hit them with clinical ruthlessness. Should he be ashamed of it? Hell, no. Does that belittle his achievements? Again, no. At the end of the day, that's just another way of pursuing the ultimate goal, which is of course winning.

However, the reason why I don't consider him a "master tactician" (which doesn't make him an amateur, as I suspect you might have intended it), is because he struggles when he has to "force" the aforementioned mistakes. His game plan relies too heavily on the exploitation of the opponent's missteps, so whenever he's faced with a team that sits deep and leaves the initiative to him, his players have a hard time unlocking the defence.

Back to your post, if the tactics are the same he has always used and he's still "the best in the business at that", then you are just validating my point: it wasn't his tactical acumen that made him great, but rather his ability to get the 100% out of every player, which he now seems to have lost. Lastly, aren't "footballing philosophy" and "tactics" respectively the theoretical and practical expressions of the same concept? So how could Mourinho's players know the tactics without grasping the philosophy behind them?

Strategy is the long term version of it and is used generally.

"An action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end."

"The military science that deals with achieving the objectives set by strategy."

Implementing a footballing philosophy is not the same as tactics. Tactics can change from game to game. The footballing philosophy instilled in a club stays for generations.

Pep can change his tactics depending on his opponent, but the football philosophy doesn't change.

Personally, I think Mourinho is horribly depressed and unhappy and I think he has seriously lost the plot.

Someone above mentioned that Milan and Inter are Mourinho's home. I disagree because he did not hesitate when it came to ditching us for Real Madrid.

He might be at one of the biggest clubs in the world but he is a miserable. When I think about him, I often think that being at Real Madrid or Manchester United and having a profile to match your ego is not everything.

At Inter, he had a President, club and fans that truly loved and respected him. He gave that up without much thought and disrespected us in the process. While we were celebrating winning the Champions League, Mourinho negotiated his exit to Real Madrid.

For me winning the treble was overshadowed by Mourinho decided to leave. It left me with a bitter taste in the sense that my sweetest moment as an Inter supporter was tainted by his departure and the manner in which he left. Failing to travel back to Milan with his players and not being there to celebrate with our supporters was disrespectful and undignified.

Accordingly, Mourinho deserves his present circumstances and I am happy for him to stay in Manchester where it was always his dream to coach. Unfortunately for him, his dream has not matched the reality that prevails at Manchester United and the grass is not always greener.
