This was his first truly big game. I thought he did overall well— there were some nervy moments but we have to cut him a little bit of slack. Some big saves. Shame he couldn’t keep out the winner after making the initial block, but that’s how it goes when your taking close range strikes.

Lucas Chevalier at Lille is one to keep an eye on. He's young but is looking good.

linked to psg as donna's successor. i also don't see the point, josep is doing fine all things considered.
Yeh for sure. Was just pointing out he's a good keeper if Beppe was looking.
Donnaruma wont leave there - his life is too easy.

He DID keep out the winner 😏 guess it felt like a loss, ha?

Don’t know. Didn’t like him. He’s kinda poor with his feet. He isn’t a world class shotstopper either. Hope Sommer returns soon. We will be able to play from the back again.

That's why he cost us 15M and not 45M. For now he performs well enough considering what we paid for him but the sample size is still pretty small

I hope we dont ruin the momentum and keep him starting even when Sommer is fit.

Good keeper. Too good to stay a backup for longer than this season. I expect we’ll either sell for 20-25 mil or give him the starting role. He’s a great GK between the sticks but man he is brutal at points with his feet. Not sure we can play Inzaghi ball with him for longer than a few games at a time.

I think in general he is good with his feet, but where sommer has an edge is being calmer in more tense and close situations. But for me, that's totally something he can improve by more playing time. And I can see him being here for another season, coz if he continues like this, inzaghi can divide the minutes between him and sommer much better next season.

Yeah just need a bit of training (experience, ie. minutes in real matches) to handle that ball playing properly. Team should also help him a bit more and not just walk there and not offer him passing options.
Yea I agree, I feel like his struggle is more of a understanding the team than purely skill level; cause his passing with both feet seems good for a keeper; his touches seem a bit uncomfortable though, but smart, like no unnecessarily touches.

Definitely legit so far.
He is good with his feet as well, it's just like mentioned above, area where experience and play time makes a big difference. Sommer has some bad passes that turn over to dangerous situations as well from time to time, it's part of holding the ball a lot and building up from the GK and defense.
Today I witnessed one of the best GK performances I saw with Allison vs PSG.
Please be like Allison !

He looks nervous when he's got the ball on his feet, which is understandable, since he's just started to feature as Inter gk. I wish he would avoid putting risky passes in defence, since we aren't consolidated yet with our best line-up, so some of our players aren't up to the standards of our style of play. I'd so much prefer him to take a safer choice, even if it means to give the ball away, rather than playing risky passes at the back and put the whole team into a trouble.

Other than that, I'm pleased with his impact. Love how he's confident on catching high balls. Many goalkeepers these days prefer punching it, which is easier though.

Keeping clean sheets ain't that easy, no matter the opponent, so credit must be given where it's due.

Have you watched Neuer the last years? The GK that is the prime example of this style of play gets them wrong multiple times per game. It is common that passes are misplaced, but as GK it is a vulnerable spot to misplace passes.

I love his areal presence, he might be one of the better keepers we had in that regard. He catches dead balls very convincingly.

My point wasn't on making errors while executing the pass, but rather the idea of giving the ball in a risky zone. I mean, if Asllani has an opponent close to his back, I'd say avoid giving him the ball which could result in losing it, or while Bisseck has an opponent close to his shoulder, or something like that.

Sorry mate, we kind of posted at the same time, I aimed at the rest of the critics regarding his passing game.
