I like his bravery but he needs to be a bit more careful with his touches. I’ve seen enough to know that he’s good with his feet and has good passing range, but until he gets really really comfortable out there he should play it a bit safer with trying to squeeze the ball into tight spaces, especially through the middle of the pitch.

I dont think he is good enough to be our next goalie plus he isnt exactly young.

Fine play him in Copa Italia because who cares about that cup. Rather be league champion and go to the Semis and hoping for the best vs Barca then a miracle vs Real. Tho being even luckier and having another team knock them out for us

I would say 1 year in this case, but no I don’t think it’s a big deal to gently transition out an aging veteran keeper with a short, starter-wage contract when they are still playing well and in-tune with the squad. Especially because Sommer was seen as a reliable stopgap to begin with.
