Don't have one.
I just disagree with the premise of this argument. The spectrum of keepers isn't 15M on Martinez or Radu. I believe Consigli was a free agent, for example. We could have redeemed Audero's loan. They're both worse players than Martinez, but we could have survived with them. We once won a derby with Daniel Padelli in net.
But we paid premium for martinez coz he had a great season with genoa, he is young for a keeper, and he fits in terms of our playing style. I get the argument we could have spent that money on other positions but once we found out sommer is out for almost a month, which btw isn't a short period you can just "survive", it's good to have someone with certain hunger and mentality and not 38yr old seria b keeper like consigli.

I don't disagree with any of this. But it's also annoying that we didn't give Martinez any starts throughout the last six months. We're lucky this guy has come in cold off the bench and looked fine, because not everyone can do that.

There's no reason we couldn't have given him periodic starts earlier in the season to better integrate him. Keeping any player on the bench for an entire season - let alone one you're trying to develop - is a bad idea. That's on Inzaghi.

In hindsight he could have started more but perhaps Inzaghi was more cautios with the guy so we dont pull a Radu 2.
Radu was not a bad keeper by any means but his confidence went to shit real bad. Watched him at Venezia and he had a good start easily covering for Stankovic.
Martinez just did his job and I personally felt quite safe with him in goal. Onwards and upwards I guess.

MEH if any position can just sit on the bench and perform when called into action it s the keeper... Also there is a reason why very few teams rotate keepers even if they have two very fucken good ones.....

Cesar also stayed at chievo for 6 months with 0 playing time before he came to us.....

Keepers are more accustomed to doing this than other positions certainly. Still, it isn’t easy to come in cold and perform your best.

Perhaps we could have sprinkled in a few more starts for him here and there, but it’s not how most teams do things.

All the reports saying we buy Josep because he is good with his feet seem bs... He can't do goal-kicks properly let alone attacking long passes.

Bastoni must drop to help him restarting the balls. And in the few times Josep did alone himself the curl/power of his lofts were weak.

Nearly gifted Raspadori too but luckily he slipped.

Stop comparing this guy to Onana and Sommer.

Its the second game in a row he comes out of goal in a idiotic way. This is way more concerning than a missed pass as it shows he does not communicate with the defense.
Having mixed feelings about this guy.

Radu kept a clean sheet, today unlike Martinez!
Didn't watch the game so can't comment on how Radu was today.

Was referring to Radu when he was playing for us

Surprised. There are actually people disliking this dude, he is a solid keeper. I can actually see why we sign him now, besides "playing with his feet like an extra player on the field" ability, he actually is better than Onana as a keeper. He actually even has a few attributes better than Sommer.

His positioning, handling, dealing for cross balls, long ball accuracy are all actually good, basically all the fundamentals for a GK, but I cannot see him do a double save for the goal conceded today, which Sommer might be able to.

He is not a flashy GK for sure. His approach to the game, I would expect him to be quite consistent as well.

If we played Audero today, quite sure we will have a different result.

Yeah, he looks legit. Can see him being our 1st keeper. Good reactions, can play the ball with his feet. Seems to have personality for Inter 1st GK role.

It's shaping up to be a very good move in the end, let's hope he keeps going like this. Having an Audero as a starter for a month would have been exactly the last thing we would need at this dificult moment.
