Josep is the 1st keeper. We're not spending any good amount of money for a back up GK.
I don’t believe the actual money we are going to spend is well above 10 mln. There will be counterparts included. Also Sommer had a great season, he isn’t going to be our second goalkeeper just yet.

IMO that’s the only reasonable explanation we go for a guy like Martinez.

We tend to ignore one reasonable explanation in recent years i.e. the player is better than we think.

I tend to agree with you. Given the past mercato's, our scouts and Ausilio/Bepe deserve the benifit of the doubt.

But, I happen to see him some times past season, and he never (even slightly) stood out. He is okayish at everything. It could be a coincidence offcourse, but i found him very mediocre.

I don't understand this transfer, specially for those rumored prices.

It's not clear to me either how we got to Martinez in the first place and for such a price. At first glance, I would say that this is a bad transfer.

Is Branca still in charge of transfers at Inter? :yao2:

Martinez looks quite the athlete but he definitely doesn’t give me the generational talent vibes like Bento.

He reminds me a bit of Curtois. Obviously Curtois is one of the best of all time and Josep Martinez is basically a complete nobody, but stylistically speaking. His positioning and footwork are generally excellent, brave when coming out of goal, impressive reflexes, and he’s one of the better distributors in the league. Where he seems a little weak to me is commanding the box and his parrying. These are important aspects so we shouldn’t overlook them. Bento for example, and even Di Gregorio have a much more commanding presence in the box, and it’s not just physical size. Good keepers need to have strong personalities and give assurance to their teammates, so I hope we are also taking this into serious consideration as well.

I can understand why we’re going for him as an alternative choice to Bento. I just hope we don’t overpay for unproven talent.

Brazil is the weakest I have ever seen and to me its one of those Enrick coming out party but the rest of the team other than Vini aren't that impressive

I think there's been some indications Bento's price has gone up and that's why we're backing down. And part of that is the agent/3rd party wanting their cut of the deal, meaning the club isn't necessarily asking something like over 20m€ fee but the total price would be just too high for us.

Makeweights also heavily favour GKs in Italian clubs.
