But regarding this move, it's getting quite interesting. AFAIK they had agreed Oristanio would be the counterpart. But then speaking with Oristanio (his agent), he would prefer Venezia who's very interested in the player. One detail seems to be also that Genoa would like to have him on loan.

So do we end up paying 15m for Martinez in cash or are we going to include some other player to the deal? Or we're really back to Bento?

Di Marzio says Inter and Genoa will move forward with the deal without counterparts.

I’m going to be honest. The way we’re insistent despite the obstacles tell me the management has seen something great in him.

im more confident now as it doesn’t seem like a panic buy. Look at the facts:

- We thought we were only going for him because we can include counterparts

- Its very early in the market theres no need to rush and yet we are very insistent on getting him.

Perhaps its his ball playing ability but I’d like to think its much more

Yeah, counterpart doesn't seem to be the thing here after all. But the price probably is, we get a future starter for 13-15m€, I'm sure that's a key factor here like the price always is with Inter.

Yeah but Bento is only 5m more. If they felt the gap in quality was that big they probably would’ve waited perhaps bentos price might drop we might generate sales

I’m not exactly impressed, seen nothing from the lad that makes me trust him, but if everything goes wrong I suspect we can always offload him to United

Unless you’ve watched 70% of Genoa’s games you can’t make a fair judgment.

All goalkeepers will have clips showing mistakes and flaws. Even Sommer conceded a shocker vs Germany before it was ruled out. Look at Onana for instance, he was superb with us before United took him.

Since nobody has talked about his mistakes, I guess average means reliable but doesn't stand out, which is a good thing for a GK. He's apparently very good with his feet too.

This looks like a not very good deal, but I cannot say it with certainty as I barely watched him.
But, considering that Samp wanted 6-7 mln for Aduero, it's not so bad

According to someone in Bento’s entourage, it wasn’t a financial reason why we stopped perusing him, but rather a technical choice by Inzaghi..

Well, it’s certainly a ballsy move. Bento is playing for Brazil and is seen by many as “‘the next big thing in the goalkeeping world,” while Martinez isn’t surrounded by much fanfare at all. To top it off Bento seems to be an inter fan or at least fond of inter.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I know more than our coach and scouts about what goalkeeper will fit the system, I just hope it pays off or else it will likely be a massive regret…

For some reason I have zero faith in this signing, despite our management and scouts almost always do a excellent job.

His highlights, story’s from fans of Genoa, the few times I’ve seen him, statistics, everything screams mediocrity.

That being said, I hope I’m wrong and welcome Josep!
