Keita was good at Inter only as a LW. When Spalletti had tried him as an AM he wasn't really good. Though we have a much different setup now so it doesn't really say much. He was great in Inzaghi's 3-5-2 at Lazio. Keita was actually the reason Inzaghi ditched his favorite 4-3-3 and switched to 3-5-2 at Lazio.

Keita...always causes me weird feelings whenever I watched him. He clearly has gunpowder under his feet i.e. quick, strong, technique. Everything that a great forward should have. But he never learns how to use his quality properly. He seems to overuse it all the time and lose the ball or ruin the play.

Unlike Pinamonti, Keita can create something out of nothing. But he is also the one that throws away other basic things. Like a gem, but sculptured poorly.

Fortunately, if there is one who can reshape Keita, it is Inzaghi. He and Anderson are similar and both exploded under him. Something positive to hope.

Keita would be indeed a backup to the attack. In Lazio years, he played as SS / forward in a two-striker system. Just like what Inter is using. He's not that good of a winger, he's better centrally.

If he can be loaned, I'm all in.

Keita is such a yin and yang type player (eg inter-empoli).

as a 4th striker he would surely offer more than pinamonti and would cost practically nothing. I think it makes sense + he has a proven track record with Inzaghi. He’s also sympathetic towards inter.

the bigger issue is finding someone to take pina on his inflated wage.

It seem Keita would be good fit for this Inter team with Inzaghi at helm? Good age alredy played under Inzaghi. He would ad good depth to our frontline.

We have lot of games coming and with 5 subs it will benefit us if we have players like Keita on bench and to compete for places!

Any news of sums we are talking about?

Actually loan is out of the question as it's his last contract year now. Maybe we pay 10m€ after we've sold Pinamonti. Pastorello also talked about that, there needs to be sales first and I'm positive it's about Pinamonti. It might be hard, but I guess we can at least loan him out.

10m? We can't even afford to spend 20m for Hakimi replacement and you want us to spend 10m on 4th forward? Not a chance.

The only way we can sign Keita is if Monaco extend his contract and they send him to Inter on loan or if they agree to sell him for a very low sum (1-2m).

Yeah maybe it's that loan deal with an option to buy. You are right about the fee, it can't be over 5m€. For that price, it could be a good buy. He scored 7 goals last season in Serie A and he's only 26 so not a washed up player or anything. Started so young in Serie A so it feels he's been at the game for so long.

I would definitely like to see him back. I can see him playing with either Lukaku or Lautaro which is good.

I do not find Kieta to be a very convincing player. Whenever he comes to mind, I think about his enormous potential and what he could offer a team when he is on song versus what he actually delivers in practice. I can never reconcile the two. Also, I do not like the thought of going back to a player that was here in the past and whose impact was limited. It makes me feel like we have stagnated, are not progressing or in fact we have gone backwards.

Having said that, I realise that we have cashflow issues and that buying a new player to be a backup fourth striker when there are other positions where replacements are more pressing is not really realistic.

Keita was not convincing as winger due to his poor decision making, however did have an impact when deployed in the area. Strong, can accelerate and shoot well, has his best years ahead of him + Interista.

I believe he was "booked" for when Pinamonti will be offloaded, question is who will pay for him.

Apparently Keita link is more about Pastorello selling the player to Inter rather than Inter looking hard after the player.

Pastorello suggestion or not, Keita could be a concrete option in case we offload Pinamonti. I doubt we will go for Satriano or Salcedo as a 4th forward. In that case, better keep Pinamonti!

If Pinamonti is gone, we're going to need a new forward and i don't see many better options than Keita. Who could we realistically get?

Dzeko has a high salary so he's out of question even if Roma terminate his contract. Now that Conte is gone, Diego Costa could be an option but he had serious fitness issues at Atletico last season. There's Simy from Crotone who could be available at a low cost but i think he was more suited to Conte than Inzaghi. Personally i would go for Jovic from Real on loan. I think he could do well under Inzaghi though he's coming from two poor seasons at Real so he would be a risk. And then there's Keita who has already worked with Inzaghi, has already played for the club and you know, more or less, what to expect from him. I don't see any better options available.

Jovic has insane wages and I doubt he's want to come to be Lukaku backup (not a lot of playing time).

Keita feels a good option for sure at this point. But I think we try to sell Pinamonti which will be hard because of his wages.

He also sucked at CF under Spalletti. I like Keita though. Inzaghi got the best out of his forwards, maybe Keita would do well too.

He's also only 26, so there's still time for marginal improvement.

I’m more worried about what he’s been doing the last couple of years. When he came last time he has potential. I feel like if he was here during Conte time he would have actually done really well. His development during the last 2 years seems to have completely stagnated.

He’s neither a left winger or CF who can play as a lone forward.

He’s like a Dybala, not even comparable in terms of skill obviously, but in that he’s best suited to a 2 striker system.

He’s one of many forwards who suffered from this obsession with 433 in previous years where very few teams played with two strikers.

If he comes to Inter I hope it's a loan deal with the option to get him for free next year, like Inter gives their players away to other clubs.
