Thats a bit harsh, mate. I don't think of Moratti as a genius, far from it, but most of my affection for our president comes from the fact that he loves this club and has spent hundreds of millions of his personal wealth to prove it. In that way, he is probably Inter's biggest fan, and there is affection for such a person. I would say only 20% of the affection for Massimo comes from his family name, the rest 80% he has earned through his sacrifice.

I do wish Moratti had some of the business shrewdness that his peers like Berlusconi & Co have. But between someone like Berlusconi (shrewd but repulsive) and someone like Moratti (bit naive but means well), I have no doubt we have the better deal - a president who may deliver less success, but he makes me love the club even more. Don't you think?

Having affection for someone who just spends alot of money is just outright bribery.

What is true is that we find ourselves in a mess financially - BECAUSE of Moratti and his financial mismanagement, we find ourselves with a comparatively poor return on the 1.5 billion euros or so he's invested in this club since he took it over.

Can someone fill me in with how we got scammed? A pointer to a post perhaps?

I read someone was saying it before this whole thing collapsed, what went wrong?

As far as we can see, the only thing we've lost is some time. Around 9 months, which should have been spent by CRCC drawing up stadium plans, or identifying sites - which, as far as we know, nothing has happened on.

With respect to Huang, I don't think we've been scammed in the sense of a con artist - I dont think he's taken anything from Inter, for example. What he has done, though, is use this to propel his name to even higher places than it was previously, and probably curry some political favour.

Where this is a shit, is that it shows Moratti and his team were incapable of carrying out the necessary due diligence on the deal, and instead snapped up any sign of money that was coming their way. The biggest loss to inter is face, ontop of lost time with the stadium.

So browha.

Aside from sketching up stadium plans, and identifying sites. Was Kenny Huang and his company supposed to be our financial source to provide funding for our stadium project? Were they a large part of the funds?

Huang was supposed to be the front man of the group of Chinese investors who have put money to Inter in exchange for shares of Inter. So basically we would have sold part of the club for money, which would have been used for whatever the Inter board wanted. He wouldn't have brought that kind of money which would have given us any kind of stadium plan, it would have been something around 50m€ if I remember correctly.

Indeed. It was a substantial amount of money, designed to front at least a 10-15% deposit on the stadium. Moratti is reasonably publicly broke at the moment, we needed the income to support the stadium
