I agree with everyone who says that he is a good player, the main disadvantage is his speed, it is obvious that he is very slow, as a substitute he is a normal player, but it is impossible to let him start. Also, the decision to have Mkhitaryan and Frattezi on the field at the same time is a very bad idea.

🚨 PSG - Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Inter's 21-year old midfielder Kristjan Asllani in January.

He has a €25m release clause in his contract.

(Source: Fichajes)

This was just before his renewal being official. So, it's a bullshit most probably

Was earning around €1.2 million net per season.

And according to FCIN, that will go up by around 25-30% on the midfielder’s new deal.

Yeah read too his new salary is 1.5m. I think this is more about financial decision than sporting decision. :D

I have no idea why people are complaining about him that much. You can't have 20 starters in the club. He is just fine and will become better with time.
He is and always will remain mediocre. We should've kept and used Yung Agoume instead of this flog.

Per the discussion on this week's terrible episode of interjections, Asllani just doesn't pass the eye test. You don't know what the fuck he's doing, or meant to be doing, or thinks he's doing at any point in time.

Agoume for me passes the eye test. He's a functional two-way anchor who moves up and down the pitch. He helps the midfield unit hold its shape, straightforwardly cycling possession and moving the ball around, while winning it back often.

Asllani on the other hand just wanks around doing jack shit then goes for the killer pass once every half hour of which he has about a 20% success rate of executing. And people are seeing that 20% and going out of their way to hope those flashes are indication of some untapped potential.

The way I see it, he is a D grade Hakan "backup" who has one tenth of Hakan's ability in every category while offering no alternative skills in other areas that might make him a viable alternative.

Someone like Agoume, while overall, a much weaker option than Hakan, at least offers something different. Asllani isn't distinct enough to offer anything different, he's just shit.

I'm all for the team trying to inject some youth balance into the squad and I commend the management for trying but the Asllani regista experiment has failed. Either fuck him off, try to get in the region of €15m and try again with another kid - or play him as a LCM and see if he can do any better.

Better yet, loan him out for a year or two and bring in a reliable DM who can offer something more tangible - playmaking which is at least comparable to Hakan, or defensive solidity instead.

Just for the record Aslani is 1 month younger than the young agoume.....

Also imho he has proven way more than agoume but that might just be me

I love the idea that anyone close to Hakan's level will just sit as a backup for the sake of the team. Lol. Any developed player like that will obviously want to start and not play second fiddle.

The issue with Asllani like most other subs, is Inzaghi usually inserts experimental lineups, which are bound to fail. Throwing a bunch of players with little chemistry, and reduced overall individual quality is a recipe for disaster.

Our backup players are not good enough individually to go in with little practice and just dominate other Serie A teams. They are good enough to give 20-30 minutes of rest to the starting players per game though.

I go back and forth on this kid. He’s got skills but I really doubt he’s breaking through here. No natural position, not enough composure, just generally lost and ineffective whenever he’s on the pitch. This renewal makes no sense at all. I don’t really understand Ausilio’s fascination with him.

People didn't like it when I said shit like this

But I just don't rate Agoume either. Can't judge the potential of either, I think they have mid-tier Turkish league side written on both their foreheads. We can judge them when they appear on the Gaziantep vs Konyaspor match in 2027.

I was a fan of Agoume from his first day and don't understand why we don't want to play him.

Exactly this. I don't remember many games where he actually played in a good lineup with Barella and Mkhitaryan on the pitch for example.

He is also 22. I have no idea will he be good or not. And you don't know either. We literally don't have enough evidence is he shit or not. I also have a feeling that some are expecting way too much. It's not easy to play instead of one of the best in the world in his position. I have a feeling people are expecting similar level of play with Asllani in lineup instead of Hakan. That is just beyond delusional.

He should have more opportunites than ever this season with more games we will play and then after this year maybe we will have a better picture about him. You can't just randomly throw a young guy here and there in the lineup and expect same level as with starters.

Anytime shit goes wrong, whoever's a non-starter gets the blame. I remember people shitting on him for the Real Sociedad game last time, and when Hakan came back it was the exact same result, and RS finished #1 in the group.

As for drawing against Monza, we had this infamous game with both Hakan and Barella in midfield.

I don't think anyone was great in that game, but if Lautaro and Pavard had actually played like starters, we wouldn't even be having these convos.

This insane Agoume narrative needs to fucking die. :D Agoume was signed at 2019, yet no Conte or Inzaghi has seen him suitable to be a proper part of the squad, at any point in these 5 years. But yet the Agoume lovers just want to see the guy play.

For those who complain, who is your suggesting alternative that can be signed with 1.5M salary?

For Agoume he is even a worse player compare to Asllani

Just looking at the basic or maintain possession: pass completion and passes attempted, Asllani at least doesn't lose the ball that easy.
Agoume even when I watched him has a lot of mis-passes.

As a midfield his contribution in the attack phrase is not bad, especially his position is a relatively further back.
He is able to find himself in shooting positions and good xAG, so his "failing killer passes" are not as bad as it feels.

The bad feeling we get, I think I understand where it is coming from, his progressive passes and progressive carries screams volume, I am not sure if it is a result of the instructions on Inzaghi, to limit his mistakes as a more inexperience player, cause I remember the first few games when Asllani played, it was almost only progressive passes and lots of take-ons attempt, which he all shy away from now.

That is probably why we have the feeling he is just doing jack, while overly rotating and recycling the ball and wait for the better opportunity to attack (not creating the space to create the play).
Despite so Agoume still is behind in the progressive passes.

Asllani's defense is not on the flashy side, so no tackle from behind, flying over to block etc. but he had good interceptions in defense position, he converted a bit in helping to press up more this year, which is not reflected in this data, but that normally would lead to less of a positional interception.

He is definitely no Totti or some young genius player type, but he can definitely shows potential he can develop up to Brozo and Hakan liking, again potential.

His biggest weakest is his physicality, he is for sure a very slow, not strong and not even high in agility player, so he really has to learn to make every one if his touches more effective and how his body is facing when receiving the ball.

His other problem is his off ball position, which I say improved this season so far.

I don't see how he is a failed developing project? Like again he is no Cassano, but is he developing while delivering something, I would say so; I don't expect 2 Hakan on the team.

Plus it is always hard to play in your non-natural position; tempo control is not his thing, that is why he either tries the hardest to not lose the ball, or attack; like his actions and choices are always fine when he is in the final third, cause he is just finding ways to attack, it is not tempo controlling. To extend further, people are even expecting him to do game control, like how Hakan and Barella would speed up and slow down, shifting the movements of both teams from 1 side to another; if that is your expectation, I don't think you can be happy with any player within our budget for a youth development, Barella is WC, I don't even think Federico Valverde can replace Barella in that sense, just look at his Uruguay games, also why Madrid is doing so bad without Kross and Modric.

Not doubt there are a lot of players that are better than Asllani right now, but they are also older and lot more expensive:

He just needs to play more proactive and try more risky passes. But anyone who thinks he is "bad" needs to get their eyes checked. He rarely puts a foot wrong.

When a team like Monza parks the bus, obviously the game will be slowed down. That's why teams park the bus, to make opposing play much harder.

I don't know why Asllani gets so much negativism here, when it obvious that Inzaghi uses him on the wrong position. And this was discussed a long time ago. We need to find new deputy Hakan ( Ricci, Rovela or someone else), and move Asllani higher on the pitch.
