And where is Maxime Lopez now?

I never got fascination this forum had with Lopez. Guy is a small team player. He couldn't even make a difference at midtable Fiorentina.

I liked him as an idea more than Asllani. He would have been more ready and a decent player imo. No way he would ever replace Hakan though. And I still think Asllani has a higher potential ceiling; he’ll just never get there at inter. Ricci on the other hand…

Don't have one.
The hate isn't comical when you can't rest calhanoglu even against smaller teams without our midfield suffering immensely, both offensively and defensively.

Hopefully, we are working on regista in january that's all i m gonna say. And i m sure our mgnmt is aware of this, and they are working on it. Serious interest in tessmann during summer and the fact we tried to get rid of him last year shows me they already realized certain things.

I have been arguing for Ricci since his Empoli days. He always looked the real deal since then. Sadly we were never linked with him prior to his move to Torino. Now he is out of reach. His price is just too high.

We were linked to Ricci. However it was brief and I think Torino came in before we were able to realistically make a move for him. Then Asllani his replacement looked good and Ausilio fell in love with him because I guess he had seen some primavera performances as well.

Damn so close.

Agree completely with the first paragraph. Disagree completely with the second.

This ownership dictates our management and I don’t trust for a second that the ownership has a fucking clue what they’re doing. Furthermore, they’re cheap as fuck and just renewed this loser until 2028.

Big mistake was getting rid of Broz, he could play as a reliable back up regista for two three years with ease.

lol he’s not top 5 in a squad with 6 midfielders? Quite the ringing endorsement.
It isnt endorsement though.

You guys bashing a 22 year old that got no playing time for a game we almost lost is hysterical.

Renewal is pure formality, it doesn't mean shit. The reality is mngmt doesn't like him because they already tried to get rid of him, and inzaghi also isn't fond of him given the amount of playing time he gets, especially as a starter. Imo that will be enough in the end. Those are the things you look for to see if a player is staying long term and not feeble contract extensions.

And I don't see why ownership will be a problem? You think they have young player fetish like some people here and just see flowers, prosperity and peaceful world when they look at the young player future? If that's the case, i m sure marotta and co. can make them erect about some other prosperous kid that will act as a replacement, although admittedly that would be a lesser solution given that i m clamoring for years now we need a more experienced player as calha replacement.

I agree there's plenty of evidence Limone doesn't like him, so I'm not ruling out an outgoing. I just think it's unlikely. And my personal opinion is that this ownership doesn't care about what Limone or management wants, or our general sporting ambitions, anywhere near as much as Zhang did.

Remember also the previous attempts to get rid of or replace Asllani all came under the previous ownership. On the other hand, what we've seen from the new ownership is a 4 year renewal for a guy who hasn't shown a thing on the pitch in 2 years.

Let's also keep in mind that we've already seen Oaktree overrule and interfere with Marotta multiple times this past window. We wanted a ready-made defender to back-up Bastoni on the left but all our options were blocked:
  • Hermoso: 29, free transfer - Rejected by Oaktree for being too old
  • Cabal: 23, €12m - Rejected by Oaktree for being too expensive
  • Nathan Zeze: 19, €15m - Rejected by Oaktree for being too expensive
  • Robert Renan: 20, €20m - Rejected by Oaktree for being too expensive
  • Ricardo Rodriguez: 32, free transfer - Rejected by Oaktree for being too old
That basically tells you everything about their approach to the past mercato. They want another Bisseck - a youngster with room to grow into a saleable asset. But one who is cheap enough for our meagre budget - which means they have to be a nobody. That's how we ended up with Tomas Palacios.

How can we afford costly players without sales? Dont forget last summer we must sacrifice one first team player (Onana) and Zhang did push the obligation payment of Frattesi and Arnautovic to this summer to Oaktree. But still, he lost his own club.

Blaming Oaktree is unfair. Fans always want expensive toys but please tell me which first team player you want to sell first?

Nah man. Don't come with the facts. Things were so great with Zhang.

Let's forget Zhang blocked Tonali and Bremer and we ended up with Vidal and Acerbi. Let's forget Zhang demanded capital gains and wage bill cuts every summer. Let's forget he demanded 80m capital gains the summer after Scudetto which forced Hakimi sale. And most importantly let's forget we ended up with this ownership because Zhang was unable to keep the club afloat on his own and also unable to pay his debt.

Almost gifted a goal scoring opportunity at the end. Both Asllani and Bisseck need to be more focused regardless of the scoreline.
