His ball distribution is great
Needs work in other areas, only something that comes with more playing time..
If he's not ready?
send him out on loan where he's gonna be slugging it out with a team fighting for relegation

I never got the narrative on this thread that Inzaghi plays him out of position. Asllani was playing at Empoli as a regista. That's where he started his professional career. He plays as a mezzala only for Albania. But that doesn't make it his position. We can argue MAYBE he could perform better as a mezzala. But he isn't played out of position.

His long passing is fantastic. I feel like if you give him enough time on the pitch with a fast player like Thuram he really can shine. He might be slow and everything but that right foot produces key passes for fun.

IMO he's given better performances for Inter as a Mezzala than he has as Regista - tho obviously this could be down to opposition/players he has around him etc. Regista is a tough position to play at such a young age and to play it well at Inter at 22 would be superhuman. I'm for keeping him and giving him time to grow as a player, either way.

And his left isn't too bad either, another thing I like about him is he isn't afraid to use it and is quite good at it as well.

I think the argument is that he's so poor as a regista that we should try him as a mezzala.

Don't have one.
He might be slow and everything
This is the area where players like hakan and rodri distinguish themselves. Plenty of players that have nice and accurate long balls, even in teams that fight for survival, but it's the speed in which you do it that determines whether you belong to a certain level or not.

I don't know, you can argue that even if some players started at one position, doesn't mean it wasn't out of position to start with.

A few that comes to mind is Henry started as a winger, and Pirlo started as an AMF, and maybe even Thuram as a winger, but in retrospective I think those are all out of position. More extreme example (youth) is Frattesi used to be a striker.

The thing is if Asllani thinks he is a regista then yea, I am a bit surprised, cause I remember he played more advance at Empoli.

I have to admit I never knew his natural position was regista.
In that case he is not competent enough to play for Inter because he only had to adjust to a new team not to a new role.

Idk what people expect of this guy tbh. He was fresh from Primavera when we bought him from Empoli. I'd say for a regista, you need at least 4-5 years of starting football, before you can properly be judged. You're the playmaker of the team. You're not going to become a top player with garbage minutes and like 6 starts a season. It doesn't matter how many years pass by.

The reality is a player this inexperienced shouldn't be playing for Inter. He's fine for a backup paid 1 mill salary, but he's wasting his top development years rotting on the bench.

Break? That means he had something before to break, I don’t think so.

Well, I thought he was decent against Venezia for the most part. Had hopes he be up to the task today, unfortunately he wasn't. Doesn't help when the home fans were on his case instantly after his first major mistake. Maybe best if goes out on loan for his preferred position this summer to gain some playing time and mend his confidence.

This team is a mess when he’s back there. If Hakan is out put Barella or Z at holding. Might not be their natural position but they’ll keep the team together much better. If he continues to start this kid I’ll start to feel bad for Asllani. It’s practically abuse putting him in the sane positions he fails in every game.

I mean after the last few weeks why am I watching us play around with the ball deep in our half with Asllani? He is consistently faltering in that spot and that’s not on him that’s on Inzaghi at this point.

It’s like losing your star quarterback and thinking the backup will just play the same way. It’s literal insanity from Inzaghi.

I don’t deny that he has some tools but we don’t play system to accommodate him, time to move on like Frattesi, unless we change coach and change approach as well. Funny enough I think he will be good in Motta’s team right now, that team only has vertical play.

This pisses me off more than the lost points. That's how it looked on the pitch as well. He also had the least amount of touches in our midfield playing as a regista lol.

And I don't even give a fuck about him as a player anymore i m more pissed at people who decided he should be a vice hakan after watching him for three years, even deciding to get rid of him at one moment, so they probably kinda knew he ain't up to it, and after all that he is still our main hakan substitute. Pure fuckin negligence...
