I wonder if Ultras know that if they are racially abusing a player of the opposition team, that players of the same race in their own team might feel a certain way. Hmmmmm.

This is exactly what the Curva was thinking when they posted their dumbass justification of racial abuse

We are having numerous related but different discussions here:

1. how to handle visible/physical displays of racism: don't bring in other shit into this. If someone is engaging in clearly racist behavior, they should be called out, publicly and the club/players/league should take a strong stand against those individuals. There is no ambiguity or privacy or cultural arguments to be made here. They PUBLICLY engage in racist behavior. If they didn't know it was racist, they have been told many times. Their belief it isn't racist is not an excuse.

2. how to handle individual views/biases that may be racist: much longer discussion but a SEPARATE one. If your grandparents have some views that may be borderline racist or shit, if you have some views that may be prejudiced - noone is saying the thought police should come and punish you. We are talking about public actions here. The only way to change prejudice views is for that individual to learn and many will learn over time based on personal experiences. This isn't to say that we shouldn't promote education and campaigns directed at focusing in on racism as a problem - we should.

3. how to handle racism/fascism in football and football ultras: ok to disagree here all you want - but linking back to argument 1, if supporters are engaging in blatantly racist behavior, the club and league have a responsibility to act. I don't give a damn if the foundation of the club was international or is being misinterpreted by globalists - the fact is that this is a global game, with global markets and depends on global viewers/consumers. Good luck filling stadiums and selling out jerseys if you want to isolate non-white, non-italian fans.

4. how to handle country-wide views on race: yes, each country/culture has a different history with race. South Africa and America are not the same as Italy or Spain, etc. That is understood. BUt again, a separate discussion. don't muddy the first topics with this one. Each country can deal with their issue depending on how they see fit - but of course, they will be subject to crtiticism if they do a poor job, and rightly so.

Ranocchiate blog came out with a statement/open letter to Lukaku as well.

Good, someone did something at least.

Inter fans send new Lukaku letter
By Football Italia staff

After the racist abuse from Cagliari fans and even more shocking Inter ultras defending them, other Nerazzurri supporters wrote an open letter to Romelu Lukaku.

The incident and above all the aftermath sent shockwaves around the world, hitting the New York Times and the front page of The Guardian, among others.

What stunned everyone was the open letter written by a group of Inter ultras in the Curva Nord, who insisted to Lukaku that the insults were not “racism,” but rather to be taken as a compliment of how much the opposition fans feared him and were willing to go in order to put him off his stride.

Now a different Inter ultras group has released an open letter to Lukaku countering that argument, proving it was only a minority that would defend this behaviour.

“Hi Romelu, the statement from the Curva was real, you genuinely read that, some people really did believe it and had the courage to publish it. Really,” wrote the group on Ranocchiate blog.

“However, we want you to know that those were not INTERISTI. We’re not talking about politics, because you’ll find people from the left, right, centre or those who don’t know or care about politics.

“We are talking about the values of being an Inter fan and a human being, which guarantee the contents of that letter was unadulterated filth.

“We want you to know that you are not going crazy: those noises you heard were not just ‘boo’ but genuine monkey impressions. In Italy, you should know, there are many who consider black people to be monkeys.

“And no, it is NOT A FORM OF RESPECT AND FEAR TO RECEIVE THEM.

“And no, it is not a way of supporting the team, because having them play behind closed doors the weekend after creates more problems than ever.

“And no, shouting ‘damn n***o’ is not banter.

“And yes, racism is still a huge problem in Italy, despite what they may tell you.

“And no, don’t stop this battle you had the courage to start, just because someone is trying to avoid punishment.

“We have had season tickets for time immemorial, but – and we hope we’re talking for all INTERISTI here, we’d prefer the stadium to be closed rather than allow something this disgusting to go unpunished.

Paging Alex Jones

The timing of the letter may be related to the pro-EU socialist coup in Italy. It looks like a false flag to discredit Inter and make us look racist.
But before I get into all that, I'd like to take a minute to plug our newest product - Chill Force, 40% off right out of the gate because I want you to experience how good it is

Sorry, I can't translate, this is another letter from a fb interisti group

Benvenuto Romelu "

Racism is not only projected towards 'blacks' but between Italian citizens aswell . I'am thinking about the conflicts regarding North and South of Italy.

I'am happy there are posters who give us another look at the situation besides the massmedia outcry against racism. Still I stand by my opinion. The letter from the ultras towards Lukaku is a lowpoint in all my years of following Inter....

Your whole post is, again, a load of bullshit.

We, as a society, since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ratified in Paris in 1948, we have established some universal principles and racism cannot be a part of a society.

Whether some retard thinks differently, is irrelevant.

To call racism something different like curva nord does, is a poor trick and nobody falls for that.

There cannot and must not be room for racism. And if someone thinks differently, he is not worth being part of the society. Plain and simple.

There are some values, which we have rightfully called universal values, that are unalienable.

I repeat, just to be sure it's clear: there cannot and must not be room for allowing racism.

No ifs, no buts, no distinctions.
Signing a document does not establish shit in greater society, its a piece of paper , vast majority of people dont give a fuck about

Its like Poland was declared Christian in 966 and I'm sure some documents were signed but 200 years later people still prayed to the trees in the woods. They probably didnt get the memo :awyeah:

A small fight broke out last night between Inter ‘ultras’ during the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 victory over Udinese, Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera reports. The report details how 66-year-old Vittorio Boiocchi assaulted fellow Inter ultra 60-year-old Franco Caravita, after a ‘vittorio uno di noi’ chant started in the Curva.Boiocchi is a notorious Inter ultra who has a history of violent crime. Caravita approached Boiocchi following the chant and a discussion broke out, which saw the 66-year-old suddenly react violently and throw two punches towards the face of Caravita. The tension in the Curva remained throughout the remainder of the game, with Boiocchi reportedly ‘smiling’ following the attack.Later on the 66-year-old was struck by a previous hearth condition, unrelated to the incident, and was forced to undergo surgery. It’s also reported that the victim, Caravita, has not filed a complaint against his assaulter due to an unwritten rule of settling matters between individuals rather than involving the police.

I saw this and didnt think much of it since I dont know too much about curva politics but I read this on the FC Inter milan reddit and was wondering if anyone had more insight.

....No it's not fake news that they fought. They chanted unexpectedly "Vittorio (Baiocchi) uno di noi", so Caravita went looking for him and was hitten twice in the face by Baiocchi, then they had an argument outside the stadium, and then after that Baiocchi had separatly an heart attack, and Caravita went to see him to the hospital, but doesn't mean it's peace now.
The shift in power is happening, and these are the Boys, coupled with what I heard (so second hand) is changning in the Vikings past the Inter-Napoli mess, you have the two of the biggest groups with changes of power that will shift the entire balance and dynamic of the Curva, and not for the best (there is a reason if the DIGOS is following closely this). This is extremely worrysome for the future.

Remember that the last big power shift in the milanese curve was when the the Fossa Dei Leoni ceased to exists and a true gang war started between Milan ultras with plenty of people knifed and with Lucci emerging as victorious and new head of the Curva Sud, Lucci aka the man tied to the now most powerful mafia (Ndrangheta+Albianians, for those who don't know the Ndrangheta allied themselves with the albanians because they are the ones bringing and controlling the cocaine market in the UK, the same cocaine that first enter Europe via the Ndrangheta) and with countless charges and sentences, and that one derby went down a ring and literally made an eye explode with a punch to a guy (Virgilio Motta) from the Banda Bagaj, which are non-violents Inter fans that bring families and kids to the stadium.
