I find it funny Sterling was there at 15th spot. Yes he won EPL but was he even a starter? He played as many minutes in CL as Lautaro except he played 5 more games and his team played 7 more games. Was good in Euros but didn't win obviously.

Some other names:
Mason Mount
Cezar Azpilicueta
Harry Kane
Raheem Sterling
Gerard Moreno
Pedri
Riyad Mahrez
Phil Foden
Simon Kjaer
Leonardo Bonucci
Bruno Fernandes

if anything, I'd be pissed that not more Inter players made it.

That I am - De Vrij and Brozović in particular. Also more GKs should get some shine.

Lots of energy, nice penalty, gets a little hot under the collar rather easily, opponents will use that. Beware Lautaro!

I stopped paying attention to the Ballon d'or when Wesley Sneijder led us to Champions League glory and the Netherlands to the World Cup final and did not win the award. Denying him that award was akin to daylight robbery.

The Ballon d’or is a complete joke and anyone that is well informed when it comes to football, places very little value in it.

Finally somebody speaks up, but it's not just San Siro that has an awful pitch.. but it is correct for a home player to speak up

LAUTARO MARTINEZ EXPLAINS BARCELONA SNUB: ‘MESSI WANTED ME, BUT…’

Lautaro-Martinez-penalty.jpg

Lautaro Martinez admits Leo Messi wanted him to join Barcelona, but he’s happy to have stayed at Inter. The Argentinean striker has recently signed a contract extension with Inter until 2026.
Back in 2020, Barcelona were keen to sign the striker, but they never managed to reach an agreement with Inter.
“It’s true, Messi wanted me at Barcelona. We’ve spoken many times while on international duty with Argentina,” Lautaro told SportMediaset.
“He was talking to me about the situation at the club, but I’ve always remained calm and I’ve always spoken to Inter to find an agreement [over a new contract] because I am happy here. I am delighted to have stayed. My family and I are happy here.”

However, Lautaro saw his former attacking partner Romelu Lukaku leave the club in the summer, returning to Chelsea for €115m.
“It was a personal choice,” explained Lautaro.
“He was happy here, but he decided to leave because that’s what he felt.
“I’ve become a father and I improved on and off the pitch,” Lautaro added in another interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“Sometimes I get angry very quickly and that’s something I must improve.
“Inzaghi is helping me. We spoke on the phone when I was playing in the Copa America over the summer. I always try to learn from my coaches because they have experience and want the best for us.
“Now we are preparing the games against Roma and Real Madrid. Roma have a top coach who likes to play well. The atmosphere will be buzzing and the following game against Real Madrid will be important for our growth.”

Lautaro, 24, joined Inter in a €25m deal from Racing Club in the summer of 2018.
He has scored 57 goals in 151 appearances with the Serie A giants, winning his first Serie A title last season.
He was also linked with a move away from Inter in the summer, but his recent contract extension means neither he nor the club are planning to part ways in the near future.

Glad to read Lautaro has become a father! This usually helps footballers take the leap in terms of responsibility on the pitch. I mean fatherhood did wonders to Brozovic as well.

I like angry Lautoro, he just has to learn to harness/aim it.

This is his 4th season and he hasn’t improved his passing yet. It’s a simple attribute yet he still miss it and it may cost us a lot in some occasions.

Not to mention still being clueless sometimes on the ball, he has to learn how to shield and needs to improve physically (he already improved though, but still).

I will give him a break about his misses, it happens to every striker but for fucks sake get your shit together when you have the ball.

Lautaro hasn't improved too much last three seasons. He is still very good palyer, but if we receive decent offer for him, we should sell. I've read that Felix is not happy in Atletico and wants to leave. They were interested in Lautaro last summer, so if we can initiate a swap deal will be great. I think Felix will be great in Inzaghi's style of play.

I also think he will never be the striker we need him to be. I hope I am wrong.
Unless he starts showing some improvement and consistency, it is reasonable to start looking for other long term options.

Has yet to score in the champions league this year. Needs to do better. We are creating the most chances in Europe and this guy has failed to take advantage of that. Needs to step up big time.
