I don't think he regressed or something like that, this is the same lautaro from last years, he will again be at 14,15 goals a season and that's max. what you can expect from him. What change this year in comparison to last year's is everybody is looking at him as a focal point and expects more, but It's just not happening. Those expectation levels are what's creating imo illusion that he is in bad form. Meanwhile, he'll probably score against cagliari, disappear for another two or three games, score again etc...

There is no stepping up or anything like that, i v said this even last year when lukaku was here, you need a whole new lineup of strikers if you want that kind of clinical finishing. It's like expecting gagliardini to step up against real madrid midfield...

Our finishing is the same in every competition, it's just that league matches are much more forgiving than cl. For the seria a level its good enough and in a financial situation we are in that's the highest peak we can climb on.

No its not. You'd have to look at xg but I don't have a stat for that throughout the group stage. But even with those stats above, for a supposed world class striker to then finish on 0 goals is a failure. Needs to step it up.

Lautaro is probably the one I’m most disappointed with this season. His off the ball stuff is great and I especially love his little dummies and little flicks in the box.

But when you look at his finishing… I mean I know he’s not Haaland, but when you compare their head to head CL goal scoring records— it put things into perspective.

15 goals a year is what this guy is gonna get us. And that's with the best attack in the league. The best strikers have an it factor he just doesn't have. Vlahovic has that it factor but with the season he's having hell probably be off to a bigger club than us. Or at least a club who can give him bigger wages. I know he's getting older but I think we need to look at Zapata again for next year. Dzeko is on his last legs and Lautaro simply cannot be a lone striker. He needs someone to take significant attention off him. Lukaku was the perfect player for Lautaro because he would consistently get the opposing teams best defender and often two of them.

He has been disappointed so far. I don’t know if Inzaghi want to switch his current with Dzeko in which I think suits Lautaro better. Right now he is the main striker to draw CBs out of position and his chance would be less than usual but his conversation rate is so underwhelming.

Just been ass all season, but similar to Barella he played basically every minute of the 2019/2020 season plus Europa League run in the late summer, then played every minute of the 20/21 season followed by a (title-winning) run to the final of the Copa America, and is now starting almost every game again.

Needs a rest, and that's completely understandable. But good lord man just stay behind a bit in training and work on your finishing.
