Important to remember Lukaku is a player oppositions have to directly game plan for. He's a unique combination of size and speed that can impact the game without scoring. With Lautaro he's pretty much average physically and generally doesn't trouble a defense at all unless he's scoring

honestly I saw dzeko and lauti in the same positions this game... one thing lukaku had was he used to drift out wide while dzeko cant... early in the season it was working because dzeko was coming short for the ball which was leaving space for lauti but even now they are both occupying one space which is easy to defend. I would love to see 3-4-3 once because I feel like lauti is a 9 out and out. Dyabala/lauti works cause dyabla drifts from his position same with correa and sanchez

Lautaro by himself has 10 goals since the beginning of the year good

Dzeko, Correa, Sanchez, Caicedo combined only 8 goals since the beginning of the year

We need new strikers next year... no wonder Milan will most likely will win Serie A this year.

i agree, we need someone to replace Dzeko, but we didnt lose the championship cause our attack was bad, its actually by far the best in the league... The only problem was losing points vs shit teams.

Because our attack was bad against those shit teams. Lautaro must definitely stay but we need to replace Dzeko and fucking Correa, one is a log, the other one is basically Julian Newman of football.

Both Inter and Lautaro numbers look good but they don't tell the whole story. When Lautaro is in good form he's someone you can count on in attack. The problem with Lautaro is he's inconsistent and he has dry periods every season. That's when you need another forward to step up and share the burden in attack. Sadly we had none to do it in second round and that's when Scudetto was lost.

Sassuolo: 0 goals
Genoa: 0 goals
Torino: 1 goal
Fiorentina: 1 goal
Bologna: 1 goal

These were the matches where Scudetto was lost. No one stepped up in second round. Dzeko stats may look decent but since January he scored in just 4 matches. Correa hasn't scored since the doppietta against Udinese in October. Sanchez had just 3 goals since January. Defenders and midfielders contributed a bit here and there but none of them scored consistent enough.

It may sound ridiculous when we have the best attack of the league but we lost scudetto from attack. That's where we need to focus in the summer.

Lautaro is the only one upfront I'd keep to be honest. Dzeko, Sanchez and Correa leaving this summer will not lead to many tears.
If it was possible, I'd honestly do this. Expensive guys who have contributed quite little, not only in goal scoring but in other aspects of the game too in months. Unfortunately it looks the club is in a situation where it cannot get rid of these guys, only one maybe (because we don't have funds to replace them).

Yeah this was well pointed out. Lautaro has 21 goals in the league after 37 rounds. Can't really expect more from him, so others should have def chip in better.

bingo.

Given his age, I'm still hopeful he can grow and blossom, but he needs to get a bit more consistency. Of course thiis season it didnt help his striker partner was Dzeko, who scored 6 goals in 27 league rounds - but thats where two good strikers are critical to make up for each other.

Don't have one.

Nah, if I have to point to one part of the team where we potentially lost the title, i m definitely pointing to attack, despite the numbers on paper. In this case, it's one of the most misleading things you can read. The fact that people here for a whole season are arguing who needs to start and what's the best attack pairing, and every single one of our attackers had huge black holes and rough patches, tells you everything you need to know.

Those dry patches absolutely buried us and no amount of goals from any of them right now, when title is almost over, can redeem them in my eyes. We need a much better attack next season, plain and simple.

We need any of the three to be replaced wit a competent player who can score goals and I think we are already in a much better situation.

He is the reason why Milan hasn't celebrated the scudetto in April. His form lately is incredible. Shame for the little black hole earlier in the season we could've buried Milan if he played this way back then, welp that's gone now, but we absolutely need to keep him. He does more than score goals and he still scores quite a lot. The other attackers have been lacking but Lautaro globally did what was expected.

Been saying that since the beginning, Lukaku didn't carry him, they both benefited from playing together, Lautaro is not some f*cking Saelemaekers.

Lautaro missed a penalty in the first derby, so one can say that he's the reason why bilan will 99% win the title to begin with.

Ridiculous post.

Alot of water has passed under the bridge since the first Derby. If you do not like or rate him you should just say it rather than making absolute bullshit claims that with no substance.

So you agree that he's the sole reason we're still in for Scudetto? Take the positives only and not the negatives? Objectively speaking, personal bias aside.
