Well, against Roma, both happened. :D Lautaro scored and we kept the clean sheet without allowing too much chances.

What an awful game from him. Another awful game from him. His misses are so bad right now that he's costing us points.

Right now he's even worse than Arnautovic

Shameful form, it has to be said. I really don't wanna believe he blew his load last year for coppa america, scuddetto and contract prolongation, to now be on autopilot mode.

Sluggish is the best way to describe him since the season started, which is devastating for us, given that his biggest strength as a striker is his rooney esque tenacity. We look like a totally different team when he is in that mode, which is one of the reasons why we are hurting so bad at the moment.

It's down to lack of a proper pre season and that's a hill i intend to die on even if i am left alone :D

Inzaghi needs to drop him till he properly recovers his fitness but i don't think he's gonna do it.

Maybe that Ballon D'or talk and Messi publicly jerking him off is screwing with his head again. Doesn't look unfit, just disinterested and unfocused.

Is it true he hasn't scored at home for 8 months?

Geeezus Christ.. I couldn't believe this and I had to look it up and it's true..

His last home goal was vs Atalanta on 2/28/24. He's only scored 3 times at home in 2024 (Verona, Salernitana, Atalanta). He's scored 4 league goals total since the start of March.

Think how many games we've dropped points this season because Lautaro couldn't score.

The lack of preseason is the main culprit here. People think players are like mobile phones when we just let them rest and recharge until full so we can use them again. Football players are humans who can be jaded by the excessive amount of travels and matches. They also need a preseason to increase their capacity for an exhausting year.
Lautaro's case is even worse. He cut short his vacation and it was a nice warrior gesture. But it was an appalling decision because he just had a busy year and now he is embarking a similarly hectic new season without a proper rest and preseason. I also blame our coaching staffs who let him train instead of ordering him to recover.

Nice, I wanna hear this excuse till next summer. Only need to cut holidays off then I don't have to get criticized for playing shit.

Busy summer is his business, not Inter's. Club World Cup hasn't started yet.

My post is not an excuse or to defend Lautaro. I just describe the general situation and I agree fans are entitled to criticize an underperforming players. Stop twisting and mislabeling other's post.

His summer or lack there of has nothing to do with it.

He scored 1 goals in the last 10 games of last season leading into the summer.

Not having a proper preseason is a poor excuse in my book, especially if you are by far the highest paid player in the team and a captain.

You can use it for an excuse first couple of games of the season and maybe even a first month, but after that it's just bullshit imo. And what does that even imply that he didn't have a proper preseason? If it implies he is not in form than surely we would have seen some improvements there three months into the season, usually players get gradually better and better as games roll by, instead he is the same sluggish self as in the first game against genoa. And if it implies he didn't have proper rest, then even that cant be a good reason for him to look this deflated. He wasn't the only "big" player who played a huge amount of games last season both for the national and club level, but he is the only one it seems who doesn't even look like a shadow of himself.

I don't care what everyone else says, for me, it's a huge red flag the player who had a hugely successful last season looks like this in the following year. That's not a big player and big salary energy we are now expecting, and rightfully so after many years of wait.
