Considering his contract situation, if true, it would be best to sell him this summer, rather than risking a disgruntled player whose value will plummet over the next season. And I wouldn't be surprised if Lautaro was the type of player who'd let his performances suffer because of a contract dispute.

That being said, any realistic replacement would be a severe downgrade in terms of talent, output and work ethic. Particularly because it seems almost certain that we won't reinvest even half the money we'll receive.

We all saw this coming when his agent said " we're good". Sell him to Arsenal with Bellirin as the kicker. Inter may already have his replacement in Satriano that way he can play more games at a high level.

The only thing we should consider about his contract situation is that he should have had a new one already... Marotta fucking things up once again with all the stalling to save a couple of peanuts here while he's free to hand millions to Conte, Radja, Mario and so many others!

Not all the blame is on Marotta though, Stevie tipped Inter's hand early, saying we're broke. The Conte deal was a mistake, Radja is a Spaghetti deal along with that drunken sots greed, Mario and Dalbert well, how the f@#k do these c÷×/ts have in their contract refusal clauses! Lot's of blame all around ....

Marotta has caused a lot more trouble than he brought good. Someone else could have done a far smoother job. The Zhangs deserve blame, but one of those is also hiring the guy who has also contributed to our economic situation by mishandling transfer dealings and contract disputes. Not that Sabatini was far better or anything, but when you're given more money and more responsibility, the expectations are different and the blame is exponential. It's one thing to waste $2 by buying the wrong stuff from the kiosk and another to waste $200,000 and instead of an apartment you end up with a small yacht that will suck every penny you have after a summer of use :D

Now you know why I would never buy a boat. More importantly, how common is it for " players" to have these refusal rights in their contracts? I can see it for "stars" in their second contract but holy smokes c'mon.?.

I won't even be sad if Lautaro leaves. If he doesn't want to extend his contract, what else can we do? Better to sell him now at his peak value, than losing him for free in two years.

Unlike Hakimi, Lautaro is a good player but not a rare player. We can find his replacement everywhere. I don't rate him as high as some of you here...even an old shadow of Sanchez can be as good as him last season.

Lautaro going to Arsenal, let alone for the rumored figures of a mere €60m, would be like your girlfriend leaving you to be with some pimply high school kid.

Then again, players like Ozil and Sanchez also made massive downgrades and went to Arsenal from much better clubs.

So we opened a supermarket this summer, everyone is on sale maybe even marotta himself.
This transfer window is so depressing

As irrational as it is, I'm pretty much to the point of figuring that, if either of the strikers is sold, sell the other and do a complete teardown. Which would've also been a basis for hiring Sarri instead of Inzaghi, but it's been abundantly clear this entire summer that none of the decisions the club is making and will continue to make are in any way in sync with each other.

The way things are going, we're heading back to the Banter Era one way or another. Might as well give the illusion that they might have some cash to spend, although there's absolutely zero reason to have any trust in Suning to properly invest in the club anymore no matter how much money in sales is brought in.

I think its not easy to offer new bigger contracts to players as you dont have the money to pay current ones :)

Like it was just few months ago… But sure Its all Marotta fault…

Don't have one.
This dude ain't going to arsenal, it's really laughable he is even being linked with them. His wet dream is to play in spain, so if we don't get any offers from there, our only hope is man city if they fail to get kane. Think his love for spain can only be cured with that sweet oil money.

I said it before, I wouldn't lose any sleep if we decided to sell him. From the first couple of months when he first came here I got the sense that he is using us a stepping stone and openly so with his agent, old and new, blabbing every summer about barca. And that's ok I guess, he is entitled to act in that way, but then he can't really expect any empathy from me when it comes to getting a new contract.

There are ways in which you can put pressure on management to get what you want, this type of unsophisticated way in which his agent openly reiterates every summer same bullshit is my least favorite method.

Good luck trying to buy Lautaro Arsenal 😂 this would be a negotiation I wouldn’t mind which way it turns out.

If any offer comes around 70m we shoud sell. If not then keep him. We can still extend his contract next summer.
