In my humble opinion, Vlahovic is a bigger talent than Lautaro!

I don't know about Vlahovic but talent only gets you at certain point. For example Balotelli had the best scoring talent I have ever seen and he was much younger than Vlahovic.

I just posted that if a players will is to leave we should let them leave in the forward transfer rumor thread.

On one hand Inter fans criminally over rate other teams players and criminally under rate our own. Martinez is a fantastic player and is currently much better than both of his rumored replacements (raspadori or Correa). Our fans love to bitch and moan about him because he's not getting 30 goals a season but his work rate and pressing on the defensive phase was key for us during the scudetto run and oh yeah one more thing he's our champions league crunch time player not lukaku who goes missing for the big matches sometimes. If he wants to stay at 6m renew him at 6mil he has a great future ahead of him and is young he we can always sell him later.

Yeah, he's not our go-to guy when it comes to scoring, that's why he's not scoring A TON. Still scored 17 goals in Serie A (+ 10 assists). Lautaro is a massive talent and shouldn't be sold in this window if no one offers enough. If we sell him low this summer, what's the point? We might aswell take one cheap season from him and sell him low next summer. Perfect scenario is of course we extend him now in August.

I’ve heard accounts of him being an absolute machine in training. Players like Balotelli/ Cassano never took training seriously.

It seems like he’s got hunger. Of course Belotti also had hunger and banged in 20+ at a young age. We will see.

Plus our strikers are really wasteful, even if he would not be our go-to guy he could still manage 20+ goals but he misses alot

tbh he was carried to both of those victories. I am pretty confident any competent striker would have won the league (partnered with Lukaku) with us last year (Sanchez, for example)

Sorry, how was Lautaro carried to those wins especially the Scudetto one?
Man was running like a mad dog every game, scored 17 goals assisted 6 while not being the target man in a two striker formation and somehow he was carried.
How ?

Saying Lautaro was carried is just inaccurate. He was not as important as Lukaku but he was a starter in almost every game he was fit. He chipped in with important goals and good play across the season. Just because you weren’t the go to guy doesn’t mean you were carried.

Eh. That's not fair. He was streaky, but a lot of players were.

Handanovic was single-handedly trying to send us to the Europa League at one point. Barella was very poor for several months towards the latter third of the season. Brozovic had his usual once-every-10-games retard moments. Eriksen was a non-factor for 50% of the season while Perisic was also very unimpressive in the first half. Vidal and Vecino perma-injured. And as far as I'm concerned, Sensi hasn't even played football in 2 years.

Hakimi spent a good chunk out of form and Lukaku went a notable stretch without scoring too. And unlike Lautaro who comes off most games, Lukaku would never come off, no matter how poorly he was playing, even if he was a detriment to the team by blocking goals with his fat head and costing us CL knockout stage qualification by being randomly offside like a dickhead.

Part of what made our success last season so sweet was that it was a great team effort. Cliched but absolutely true. It is ludicrous to suggest any of our players were "carried" to the title, as to suggest they didn't deserve it, or the team won in spite of them. Except maybe Kolarov that dickhead.

Yes, Did you?
The Lukaku and Lautaro pair worked very well. Lukaku scored a lot of goals, Lautaro did too, they both contributed in a major way in the title race and Inter winning was the result of having a pair of two performing sstrikers upfront with Alexis coming from the bench backed by a solid midfield and defence at the back.
Lautaro is one of the players with the most non-penalty goals in the league and the starting point of our pressing game last year. I don't know how anybody could say he was carried to the scudetto.

Him not having penalty goals is not the win you think it is lol.

I am not saying Lautaro was bad. I'm saying he wasn't great. I also should clarify that I think he was carried as far as forwards are concerned. Certainly there are plenty of players who weren't spectacular last season. But when we come to the attack, Lukaku led (by a great margin) in consistency, playmaking, and goal scoring. I think it's perfectly fair to say that Lukaku carried our forwards last year.

I am not saying he's bad, I'm saying he's dispensable in a way that Lukaku isn't.

I think it's also unfair to blame Lukaku for our CL exit. Where was our god Lautaro? When we lose the blame goes to Lukaku. Why do you think that is? It's because he carries the team and when he doesn't perform we struggle to find a way.

Lautaro was too busy trying to beat Real Madrid while Lukaku was busy failing versus Shakhtar

Can't really see Lautaro leaving for Arsenal. No European football and little chance for silverware.

Living in London is a drive for many players/coaches, but I don't see it with Lautaro. How much money do they offer him though?

Lukaku contributed 4 points with his goals against Gladbach while Lautaro contributed 0 points with his only goal in the loss against Real.

The discussion is silly.

People not seeing Lautaro's contribution and at the same time overrating any effect Lukaku has is pretty much the story of the last 2 seasons. I'm hoping it will be the case for the 3rd season as well - seeing that we are in the Lautaro thread - because if the contract shit escalates and he leaves, we'll all finally start to agree on Lukaku's contributions if the Lautaro replacement is someone completely different like Correa.
