I mean you're technically right. But this was never an argument against Vlahovic, he plays lone striker for Fio, of course he must not press like Lautaro otherwise their attack will be dead after 60 mins.

What I'm trying to say is Lautaro is maintaining a very good scoring rate (91mins per goal) in Serie A, despite his intense work in other areas. The trade off is clear, if he spends less energy on chasing defenders, he will be sharper in front of the goal. But do we really want to have 2 strikers who play with low intensity? Lautaro is nowhere as bad as you guys think.
Agree, this is exactly what makes him precious and important in Inter's team but people are always going to downplay what he does. 1 goal per 90 is great regardless, and it's even more impressive if you add in the fact that he provides that much activity.

Please read again my "unless...". Jesus.
I used Zlatan as an example so you could get my point. Btw, zlatan's way of pressure has not changed the latest 10-15 years.

If every "modern" striker was doing the hard work as Lautaro then Simeone in Atletico would be offloading his liquid inside his balls on the market every single day.

He needs to take a card against Torino.

He also has 11 goals in Serie A. Feeling he's gonna break his Serie A goal scoring recoes (17)
11 in 1006 minutes while Vlahović is having 16 in 1609 minutes.Almost 7 full games more.

And since you are discussing Lautaro-Vlahović I found some interesting stats:

Goals/shots total
L 11/48
V 16/59

Goals/shots on target
L 11/20
V 16/24

Shots on target %
L 41.7%
V 40.7%

Goals per shot
L 0.17
V 0.19

Goals per shot on target
L 0.40
V 0.46

Not that much of a difference.

Also "expected goals" stat is interesting:
L 10.5
V 10.9

Goals minus expected goals:
L +0.5
V +5.1

Shot-creating (2.97 vs 2.80) and goal-creating actions (0.54 vs 0.50) per 90 minutes are also similar.

1st, this is not to say Lautaro is the better scorer. Only means he’s not holding anyone back with his scoring. While doing dirty works means you lose sharpness in front of the goal. Replacing Lautaro with a goalscorer means we gain something and lose some other thing, hence go nowhere.

I can definitely agree with this.

It is similar discussion like few seasons earlier about replacing Brozović with some other player in midfield (can't remember who was). It's like I'm punching you in the face, you are punching me in the face.We are going nowhere that way.We need someone alongside Lautaro and not new player instead of Lautaro unless he is Mbappe or something which of course is not realistic.

Interesting stats. Doesn't look so bad after all given they are almost the same with the current Serie A golden boy.

It's definitely true that we need someone to play with Lautaro. Dzeko is old, he's not gonna be a default starter next season, we need someone to be that guy. Lautaro is our starter now and in the future. Issue is obviously we lack funds but maybe Marotta can find a way with Carnevali.

I'd rather have a Joao Felix type next to a striker, since I believe both Lautaro and Vlahović playing together wouldn't be as strong.

Honestly that photo with Alexis is beautiful. I love seeing our players become such close friends while they continue winning trophies for our club.

Well, south americans, good pals every other time, but can't wait to kill each other during international breaks.

More better finishing and less losing the ball in a dangerous situation.

He was looking on fire the first half, turning his marker constantly.

Still can't finish for shit, what is going on with that.
