He hasn't proved anything till he could hit 20 goals in seria A in a season. Anyways, Vlahovic whopped 21 goals last season at the age of 20 with mid-table team fiorentina.

He got 17 in the same season playing second fiddle to Lukaku, hardly anything to grumble at.

I am not comparing him to Lautaro.

I do bring vlahovic as comparison, under better circumstances Lautaro should have done better in the past and nowadays. The fact during his career he never touchs 20 goals sums up that he is not an elite striker. At this moment Inter should be looking for a ‘real’ first striker.

Fiorentina builds their attack around Vlahovic which is something we've never done with Lautaro. His first season here he was either on the bench or played as a 10 behind Icardi (lol) and then the next 2 seasons he was the compliment player to Lukaku. This is the first season where the eyes are on him but he is still the support player for Dzeko. That's just a bad comparison.

Do you really think his role now is the support player for Dzeko? No man, Lautaro is our targetman for now.

As for his partnership with lukaku, his role at first was not as a complement player to Lukaku, instead both of them having equal duties as main striker. As time goes by, Lautaro's achievement was below Lukaku's. Lautaro total shots last season was 108 and he played in 38 games, more than lukaku having 89 and only play in 36 games (fbref.com). Probably different site give different insight in numbers, but basically lautaro's shot tally is higher than Lukaku, but he just couldn't convert it better. How come someone with higher shots regarded as complement player to another?

In accordance with Lautaro-Lukaku situation, Lautaro just can't deliver till now and probably makes some of you think he is the support player for Dzeko.

Lautaro is definitely not a supportive stricker to Dzeko. Dezko tends to drop down and receive the ball much often than Lautaro, who is mainly gravitating around the penalty area. Lautaro's conversation rate is not good as well. At least last season, he was a big threat in penalty area due to his trickery skills, but this one it seems that he has lost this ability, and in the most of the cases he just gives the ball away.

He looked very frustrated yesterday. Part of it I think is because he's good friends with Correa and he's sad that he's been injured again.

The guy is 4th top scorer in the league, top scorer in Inter, has been improving his numbers every season that passes ever since coming to Europe, brings way more than his goals to the table, is 24, yet somehow people are destroying him, saying that he reached his ceiling and even saying that Alexis is having a better season than him. There is no point really.

I think it'll always be like this for Lautaro anyway, he has the same number of goals as Lukaku in the league last season at the same moment in the season, at that point everybody was s*cking his balls, but Lautaro ? No. He is 24 and he is already finished despite having the same numbers as the ultra top player massive striker that was carrying the rest of our Empoli-level squad to the scudetto.

He is out of shape but I'm sure he'll be back on the right track soon. He just needs to utilize some of the chances he gets during the games and his confidence will return. Forza Lauti!

I mean hopefully Messi’s hard on for him will get us big money for him.

I like the guy but makes too
Much and isn’t good enough and won’t be to lead the front line by himself. Dzeko shouldn’t be our main guy or playing all game at his age…..

I think the labels of “main guy”, and “leading striker” are rubbish. If a player is contributing and we are winning games and getting three points, the labels are not important. If we want a main guy and a support striker then we should have kept Lukaku.

The way I see it, as soon as you start talking about player hierarchy and lock players into roles, the team could stand to lose its fluidity.

Yes, Latauro needs a bit more composure and may be in a bit of a scoring rut but Inter would be silly to sell him.

The only people advocating for that kind of move are Football Manager players and posters on here because there are Anglophiles that only follow the Premier League who are aware of his quality and highly rate him.
