How the hell is this guy so patchy. His general play is excellent at the minute as well. But you always have that fear with him that he's about to hit a 10 game slump with no goals. Such a bi polar player.

Those goals were very significant. They increased his value.

haha we need to start looking for who replaces him. 8 more games this season at least. Get more goals add to that value

As has been mentioned, people need to get it out of their system that Lautaro will ever be some deadly finisher. He ain't gonna be that.

Fine, so that's now out of the system. Lautaro's value comes from the fighting spirit, the positioning, pressing, covering, general understandment of the game. He's doing what coach asks him to do. Not being injured all the time. Ability to withstand pressure like you experience at Inter level.

On top of that all, of course you need goals. And he has them: 23 total goals this season, something like 25 last season. And not many of them are useless like Verona goals yesterday.
You hit the nail right on its head. Lautaro is much more than his goals and somehow he still manages to always finish not far from top goal scorer every year. That's priceless.
It's no surprise that I can barely think of any major good performance these past years without Lautaro's involvement in it.

When he's gone people will realize and stop underestimating what he brings to the team but it will be too late.

Thought he was outstanding off the ball today. Even the dive was pretty decent
It was not a dive. If you wanna label something as a dive, look at Tonali outside our box.
With Lautaro there was contact. His balance isn't the best when under pressure so he gets to fall with simple pushes. Brahim Diaz for example is an exaggerated version of that.

It wasn’t a penalty but he was shoved just enough to both trick the ref and cause him to lose balance.
Not everyone has the same bearings. It is what it is.

Wonder how players like Barella take the news that Toro would be the new captain.

Then again, I dig him is as capitano

What's wrong with that? Lautaro is already ahead of Barella in terms of captaincy. The whole Barella demanding to be a captain is probably made up by the media and y'all are buying it.
