According to Gazzetta this is what Inzaghi has in mind for the match against Lazio

I’d like to see the second one, it worked well with Sensi against Genoa.

Any reason why I’m seeing Gagliardini instead of Vidal/Vecino? Unless they’re also with their NTs?

They're both expected to start for their national teams tonight (past midnight for us in Europe). They will probably return on Saturday morning so i doubt we can expect anything more than cameos from them.

I'm in favour of starting the game with 11 players, so left one.

Perisic is a smart and capable player and he put in a really respectable performance as a forward against Real Madrid last season.

On the other hand getting Calhanoglu out of midfield would be fantastic, because he is a dismal CM. Having said that, so is Gagliardini so we’re back at square one.

Tough choice but I prefer the 3511 with Calhanoglu AM. Perisic is needed to defend against Lazzari / Felipe Anderson and Dimarco can’t defend for shit. Calhanoglu would get utterly humiliated against SMS but with Gagliardini behind him hopefully we can take advantage of the numerical superiority, clogging up the midfield in defense while retaining the ball better in offense.

Was kinda hoping to see Satriano starting alongside Dzeko for this one. Maybe he got called up by Uruguay NT don't know. If the only two options are the ones above, then 3511 intrigues me the most, since Hakan seems pretty absent or substandard in his current position for the most part.

So literally Sanchez, Lautaro, Correa, Vidal and Vecino are out for us against a strong team because of national team bullshit and no one from the club seems to give a fuck? Like wtf. This is a serious issue.

Legendary Italian Tactician Blames Confederations, Predicts Collapse of Continental Ties

Italy’s World Cup winning tactician Marcelo Lippi has expressed pure aversion to the current playing schedules of the World Cup qualifiers, citing huge pressure on both the players and the clubs, which are left with having less players for their upcoming league and continental clashes.

According to the 2006 World Cup winner, ‘incompetent’ international federations are at fault for being too headstrong about changing their playing schedules.

“Incompetent confederations are at fault, which did not want to change the formula of their qualifying for the World Cup. In South America there are many teams, everyone has to agree, they play three games and go on until Thursday night/dawn on Friday,” he said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport (via SempreInter).
He believes the two Derby d’Italia giants are the most burdened by the current style.

“Two teams trust the South Americans the most. Inter with Lautaro, Vecino, Correa, Vidal, Sanchez and Juventus with Bentancur, Cuadrado, Danilo, Alex Sandro. The issue of injuries is different.”
Lippi has cited that if the trend continues, it will affect ties between federations and clubs on both ends of the globe.

“The European clubs will no longer hire South American players. This will put the system of those countries in crisis, which thrives on the sale of talents,” he said.

Weird that we play twice away in a row for the second time already

Verona and Sampdoria and now Sassuolo & Lazio.

Inzaghi said Vidal and Sanchez are certainly out and they won't even travel to Rome and he needs to see the state of Lautaro, Correa and Vecino before making a decision about them. He also said Sensi isn't ready to return yet and hopefully he will be available on Tuesday or next week.

I would honestly rather Toro Correa (doesn't he having a nigling injury anyway?) and Vecino not even be in the squad. Athlete's are no they were playing football 12 hours ago as I post this we play in 25 hours.. takeaway long flights, intense training, timezones, sleep patterns.. its pure Idiocy if they are in the squad at all, in my opinion.

Vidal and Sanchez played 30 minutes before Argentina? something like this, seems strange they are certain and Argentine's aren't either.

I don't know how much long flights would affect pro athletes, but from my experience, I took a 25 hour from VN to Amsterdam, economy class no less, arrived at 6am then played a full match at 16pm and felt great. Long flights don't look like big problems to me, I'm more worried about short amount of rest between matches.

Anyway, fuck NTs.

What a fucking nightmare these NT breaks are. And it has to be done all over again a month from now. FIFA wanting the whole biennial World Cup sounds like a fucking catastrophe waiting to happen.

I reckon we’re in a tough spot here. Do Lazio even have that many players that play for their national sides other than SMS and Immobile? Meanwhile we have Mancini playing Barella 70 minutes in a meaningless 3rd place Nations League game.

I hope we stop making the stupid individual mistakes we keep on making every fucking damn game.

Škriniar and de Vrij has made more ridiculous mistakes in 7 games than Ranocchia used to make in his worsts seasons. Like wtf was Škriniar doing against Atalanta, the first goal was completely his fault and the second one, he could have headed it out and instead ducked it and on top of that he was lime 2m behind the rest of the defensive line playing Toloi on-side.

And de Vrij is constantly making stupid errors with the ball even when he’s not under pressure and with several outlets to pass to.

And in general we are constantly fucking the simplest of passes, I don't know how many 2-3m passes have I seen the likes of Brozović, Barbells and Çalhanoğlu fuck up.

Specially when we're counterattacking, how the fuck do you fuck that many passes with so much space and zero pressure.

Our passing success percentage must be the worst of the top teams, and a lot of the time it seems it's because the players get complacent.

I hope Inzaghi puts their asses to the fire and starts punishing the players for those ridiculous stupid mistakes.

This is the first of the two games which will give us an idea whether this Inter can win the Scudetto. My main concern about this Inter from the beginning is whether we can beat top sides. Next 8 days will be very telling, even if we ignore the midweek CL game. This is how I would interpret the results from these 2 games vs Lazio and Juve. If we get:

4 to 6 points: My concerns are allayed, we are on the right track and can win the title
2 to 3 points: Inconclusive, but at least there is a chance
0 to 1 point: This is what I am really worried about. Forget the title, top 4 will be a struggle.
