So we went super offensive on the wings with 2 speedy wingbacks. But without a midfielder with passing range to feed them? Ok.

So the plan is to try out muscle them in midfield, got it. I can appreciate what Conte's trying to do but I suspect it won't work, regardless of the fact that we've packed the midfield our 3 most physical midfielders.

Between the two of them, SMS and Alberto are more technical than our entire midfield trio combined and I expect them to navigate our pressing with relative ease. I also expect Luis Alberto will drop deep and dictate play from further back while once again SMS will physically dominate his space and win a lot of headers.

We're going to need an aggressive and tight defense (lol) and for the forwards to hold up the ball well because I suspect there'll be big gaps between our midfield and forwards in transition. This is where I expect a lot of our attacks to break down but hopefully Hakimi's pace will continue to provide an outlet.

i guess the basic idea is our best 3 at the back, as much physical and dynamicism in midfield as possible, and we suppress their midfield. With that out of the way, then the game is on the table for us

There only reason I’m a little disappointed is Contes recent pressers. A lot of talk about being a big team and playing our game, liking watching this inter, rather win 5-4, etc. I shouldn’t be surprised though, Conte was never going to be ok with us conceding 5 in 2 games.

don't do this browha. Anybody who has to be the actual protagnist will always, i repeat, ALWAYS appear to be 'hot and cold'. Their job is to take risks and be creative.

Anybody playing behind the ball and doing things 90% safe will always, I repeat, ALWAYS appear to be more consistent.

Having broz, sensi and eriksen on the bench is flat out criminal. Hopefully lazio don't press and they put on another shit show like v atalanta. We got 2 players in the back field (barella/gags) who are quite literally our worst midfielders dealing with the press.

I dont really see how you can compare Sensi at the moment to, for example, the start of last season? He was pretty good in the first game this season IIRC, but pretty poor in the second. (I think I have that right?)

On the other hand, look at Lautaro, or Sensi last season, or Hakimi at the moment - very good and very consistent. They're clearly not on the 'same form' at the minute.


On the bright side, we've got a lot of good options off the bench if we need!
