For those who say it's not Benitez' fault, well part of being a manger is motivating the fucking players. If the players aren't willing to run for you then there's a problem with yourself and not the players. The current string of results reminds me of pre calciopoli when Inter was nothing more than a slightly above average team. All the work that Mourinho did and the struggle he had to go through to change the team's mentality has gone down the drain in a space of less than 6 months. Yes it is Moratti's fault for not buying any players but with our current team we ought to still beat Lecce and Brescia, no excuses.
The team is not getting any better at all, either they don't trust the manager and won't sacrifice for him, or they don't do any training and have no game plan going into the game, or they just completely have no drive anymore but there is a huge flaw in the team. I don't care what people say Benitez is not the tactician we all though he would be, when he inserted Deki he could have removed Cordoba and moved Zanetti into LB that way although Biabiany, who is definitely not inter material, wasn't playing at his best he is still more dangerous than having to bring in Mancini later into the game, also we would have had Deki, Coutinho and everybody else pretty much playing in their most favored position.
The team definitely lacks a purpose, you can mask this as much as possible but at the end of the day the way we play has been shit. With Jose although we did have some shitty games we were always sound as a team, we had a great defense that feared nothing most games and we just had to refine our attacking play which took time to gel. However, what I see now is a team that is completely lost on the field having to defend against Lecce for most of the match and having no idea how to move the ball forward in order to get it into dangerous positions, add to that our strong defense has completely gone to shit.
I will not lie, ever since I've been a poster in this group this is probably the first pessimistic post that I have, but I'll be honest when I say for the first time since 2005 I'm actually worried that we have completely lost track of what is needed to win the title.
