I don't want Young at Inter but i would rather take him over spending 25m on a guy who can't pass his medical. Either Roma accept a loan with option for Spinazzola or they can forget about Politano as they obviously don't have the money to take him.

According to Gazzetta we don't want to buy Spinazzola anymkre and would just loan him instead, with option to buy. Because of this, the politano-spinazzola swap could fall through.

I hope so. Average, injury prone and expensive. On top of that, has the look of a guy who doesnt want to be here.

He was Juventus owned from the age of seventeen till last summer. The guy probably hates Inter.

No matter what happens with Spinazzola, i find really entertaining Roma gave 30m capital gains to Juventus for a guy who can't pass a medical 6 months later. That's next level Juventus bitch status that not even Udinese can reach.

Indeed. And now they are somehow furious we don't want to do the swap. Fuck them (though I doubt they are really furious :D ). They want to get rid of their horribly bad investment (done out of necessity of course because of FFP) and get back a perfect piece to their puzzle who even have a club-trained status for them.

It would be a huge risk to take Spinazzola if there is any uncertainty regarding his physical condition. We would have to have him on board for at least 2,5 seasons, then we could maybe sell him somewhere for break-even price. Though even then we would probably have to pay him a golden handshake since no club buying him could afford his salary.

I'm like almost ready to say I'll take Ashley Young any day of the week rather than Spinazzola if Spina ends up being a new Vrsaljko.

I'd rather give DiMarco or Colombini a chance then that we take Spinazzola and Young, spend the money otherwise and get 2 good wingbacks this summer. Getting these players will only decrease our wage budget. Sell or loan out Politano for a good fee or an obligation to buy and stay far away from players like Spinazzola. We're not in a position to take any risks as we might ending up with 5 or 6 wingbacks who are all not good enough.

If there are ANY concerns about his fitness, Inter MUST NOT accept anything more than a 6 month loan + option. I much rather keep Politano, or sell him at a discount (€18m) to his other suitors.

Forget Spinazzola, forget Young, sell Dimarco, sell Asamoah and even sell Lazaro. Overpay a bit for Alonso now, Chelsea will sell at a €30m offer coz Alonso is surplus for Lampard. And sign a pre-contract with Meunier to join for free in the summer. That will sort our wingback positions for a few seasons. Lets focus on quality, fuck mediocrity.

Thats some real FM talk out there.
Yes because money is flying high all over europe will clubs spending for aging or under performing wingbacks with high salary so selling those players it's a piece of cake.
We went for Spinazzola because it was an opportunity to get money from Politano not because we choose him over all other wing backs. No one is buying players from big clubs unless they are top quality and are bought by even bigger clubs.

Latest rumor: "Roma has not authorized more tests on Spinazzola and told the players to get ready to come back"

I'll also put here a line from Spinazzola's interview from May 2019, literally 8 months ago:

" "I've fought so much to get back to Juve that I'd stay here for the next ten years. I've always dreamed to play here. If they don't get me out, i'll stay here".

No wonder the look on his face when he arrived.

That begs the question - what are they trying to hide?

This is giving me Guarin-Vucinic vibes

I feel sorry for Politano but we need to call the deal off now.

Yikes, and this is why you don’t post on social media any photos until everything’s official.

This doesnt look unhappy to me.... too much drama about him being a RuBentino.
It’s a shame cuz he does seem like a good player but if he’s not physically good then call it off.

Cons
- Injury prone
- Match fitness issue
- Only play full 90 minutes twice in serie A this half season. Mostly as RB, as he can't even replace Kolarov on the left.
- Overpriced to his actual market value, may became huge issue when we try to offload him later. Capital loss is expected here, unless he had sensational season and when we're able him sell at high price.
- Juventino, probably good thing, means no problem when we decide to rid of him.
- Politano price may get higher due Roma's attacking style, also by being motivated to do well for euro 2020 squad.
- Strenghed direct rival, with proper profile, in position where really need the most and even gave them a homegrown player.

Pros
- Covered LB/LWB/LM/RB position as needed
- Blocked Ashley Young transfer
- Removed unused player whom unfortunately incompatible with current system.
- By offloading Politano, we get small capital gain and open space for Giroud.

I think Roma won this trade. Although they make a capital loss here for Spinazzola, they just decide to cut loss their investment. On the opposite site, there is higher chance Politano market price will increase benefited from Fonseca's style of play.

Loan with option to buy is make sense for both club. Inter able to asses Spinazzola physical condition and if Politano good season at Roma, they could redeem him.

Dimarco is like on minimum wages and Lazaro's gross salary is just €2.8m. These two are young, and very sellable. Politano is on just €3m gross wages, if we offer a discount to €18m he has enough suitors. Yes, its easier said than done. All suggestions on transfers are a bit of "FM talk". But the ones mentioned above are not difficult if we are willing to shift them on book value (i.e. plusvalenza neutral). Among all the names I mentioned, only Asamoah will be difficult to shift due to high wages.

This "Spinazzola opportunity" you are talking about is an illusion. Spinazzola has had serious injury concerns as well as "failed" at his last two clubs. If he performs averagely or gets injured again, this will be a sunk cost.

Anyways, what I was trying to suggest was a change in tact. Forget investing on average wingbacks. Less buy less, but buy quality. We will end up saving ourselves a lot of money in the long run and improving our performances immediately.
