Leonardo has said ''yes'' to us and our contract. Looks like the swap deal with him and Politano is imminent and down to the final details :pazzini:

Seems like another decidedly average option for full back.

Is he better than our current wing backs?

If he can stay fit he will be a great addition.

Every time I see him play he’s terrorizing the opponent seems like a good one to me

Imo a fit Spinazzola is much better than Biraghi. I rate him higher than the average Italian fullback, which to me is what Biraghi is. I also think Spinazzola is a better fit for a system with wingbacks.

I just want to be realistic. We can't expect from this guy to stay fit. It's not gonna happen. The guy is more injury prone than Davide Santon.

Btw according to Sky, there's an agreement between Inter and Roma about the Politano-Spinazzola swap.

Spinazzola was Juve's best fullback last year. If he can get to that level he should be our first LB.

Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzola has reportedly accepted a contract offer from Inter, only awaiting to close the swap deal including Matteo Politano.

The Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira reports that the Nerazzurri have come to an agreement with the former Juventus player and will pay the player €2.7m a year.

Inter are now negotiating the terms with Roma about the deal that will see Matteo Politano travel in the opposite direction.

Politano has allegedly approved of a move to the Giallorossi, where he will be replacing the currently injured Nicolò Zaniolo.

Spinazzola arrived from Juventus for €29.5m last summer and has operated at the right-back in Paulo Fonseca’s defence, despite having admitted he prefers to play at the left.

Spinazzola became renowned for his performances on the left with Atalanta, earning him a second chance at Juve and consequently a move to Roma. However, five of his seven appearances under Fonseca this season have come on the opposite side.

“I’ve always played on the left, and I feel much better there. I’ll play on the right if the Coach wants me to, but I’m not used to covering that area of the pitch. However, if I play more games on the right then it’s not a case of me forgetting how to play on the left.

“I played as a winger six years ago, but I prefer to play deeper because I have a lot more field. I’ll play where the Coach wants me to. I have the luck - or misfortune - of being able to cover several positions.”

» That`s quite a heavy wage if I might add, guy should walk into our starting line-up. Him and Asamoah being both injury prone will ensure rotation will be shared between brothers of the world.

According to Pedulla, Politano and Spinazzola evaluations will be 25-28m.

Tomorrow we are having medicals scheduled. I am on the fence with this transfer. He is much more complete player than Biraghi but will he ever see him to play at least 8-10 games in a row without getting injured? Anyone's guess/

I am relieved if this means no Ashley Young.

At this rate he'll probably get injured with just one look from Conte's trainer  I'm not optimistic at all.

Getting rid of Politano and not having to sign Ashley Young = win

I don't want to ruin the party but Pedulla says Spinazzola doesn't exclude Young as Dimarco and Lazaro could leave in January.

His natural position is LB. And Contes obsession is LB atm. Asamoah is not reliable anymore, Biraghi too.

Im worried about Spinas injury record, that is quite a long list of different problems. I fear that Pintus gonna break him in half.

Positives. 26 only > Young 34? Quite technical, has speed, can beat a man. Treats Conte most wants. If he can get in top shape under good motivation, we could have a very useful player. On top of it, Politano was a waste of space anyway. Played under Spallo yes, not with Conte. And when he got his chance was tense and frustrating as hell.

Its a good move.

It is Spalletti's fault. If he didn't want Radja then Zaniolo would not get injured and Roma would not want to give us Spinazzola for Politano.
