This season isn’t Roma’s season. The days of taking advantage of Inter are gone.

I consider this not a very good deal financially. Who is honestly valuing Spinazzola to 25m€? To even 20m€? Politano could have been sold easily for at least 20m€ next summer (Roma/Milan/Napoli). Like easily. I feel we lose "value" in this swap deal.

However I understand the management's position. They need to reinforce the left side and they need to get rid of Politano to allow them to sign Giroud. This deal will solve both.

Now fingers crossed that Spinazzola stays fit.

The only good thing with this deal I guess is hopefully we don't sign Ashley Young.

I'd rather it was a temporary swap though, because Spinazzola is not worth 25-28mil, only Roma were stupid enough to get ripped off by juve for that price. Politano at least has some demand as a winger and is a pefect fit for teams like Fiorentina etc. When the time comes it's going to be hard to sell Spinazzola for a decent price, and he'll probably be injured 95% of the time he's here. In fairness whenever I've seen him play he's done quite well, but his injury record sucks.

The only good thing about this deal is we manage to make capital gains on a player who was purchased for 20m few months ago and who has no role in our current formation.

And we get an instant upgrade to Asamoah and Biraghi, which isn't too hard to do, but still...

Is it direct permanent swap or loan with option to buy?

They guy has gone from Atalanta to Juve to Roma to Inter in less than 24 months?

Something not right here. Still probably the best we can get for Politano in January

Imagine that JuBe bought Gagliardini from Atalanta, they would need 6 months to realize they're fucked. Next move is to play him against poor teams so he can keep his NT spot.

After that put him on market and Roma, who else, will bite. They've paid money for Varetout, Juan Jesus, they even took Santon.

Now ... Inter is coming, not for everyone.

There are couple things that are stopping me from complaining about this deal:

- Politano is extremely frustrating to watch this season
- He doesn't fit in Conte's 3-5-2
- we are so desperate for WBL that we offered contract to Young

I will try to be optimistic and hope for the best.

Good deal for both clubs, Spinazzola was very good at Atalanta so I'm optimistic.

Atalanta players look very good in their system, but struggle outside of it specially at bigger clubs. Spinazzola, Gagliardini, Kessie, Caldara, Conti, Cristante, etc were all big money moves based on their Atalanta form, and none of them managed to fulfil their promise in their new clubs.

We started a 17 year old over him multiple times no way he kept his transfer value. Only teams with 0 money want him. Lucky to get anything and money saved on Ashley young’s wages hopefully make up for it. Hopefully we don’t pay the non name Roma guy crazy wages

IF the swap will be made on a 25 million evaluation, that would mean a good 7-8 million capital gain on Politano. There is not a big difference in annual amortisation cost and in wages, so financially it's a really good move. and on the pitch, as well.

I remembered last year many juventino said its a mistake to sell him to rome, saying he’s the best italian LB, and has performed better than sandro

But again juventino is not the brightest crayon in the box, they sang the same tune when caldara went to milan
