because we dont want to take 110m minusvalenza over the 3 year contract we'd realistically give messi, in addition to his wages? To match his barca wages is like 50m a year, plus that transfer fee you're talking 90-100mil a year. We cant afford that.

He's been in confilct with the management since 2015, even before the Champions League. On December 2015 he was contacted by Manchester City and he was actually thinking about leaving Barcelona for the first time since Moratti came knocking when he was till a teenager. Maybe he didn't actively seek a move, but he definitely wasn't as happy there as before. The club changing direction completely didn't help either.
