Klopp: “I’m glad we don’t face Inter every week, they’re a very tricky opponent. They are fighters, they are warriors.”

From what I can see, with the right investment and continued development, Inter look like they could be a dangerous force. That was a rough game for us tonight, and that was Inter under strength. If I was an Inter supporter, I'd be taking a lot out of this tie and be confident going into the rest of the season. Jusyt got to hope your ownership doesn't scupper your development (know how that feels during the Hicks and Gillette era for us).

Great game tonight guys - I thought Inter were really unlucky, missing Barela for both legs and getting a man sent off.

Hopefully your ownership invest a bit more in the squad. Inter are one of the great clubs of the world and should be fighting to win the CL every year. Best of luck for the rest of the season and thank you for having me on here. All the best

Feel free to stick around! We can make fun of man u together.

Saw the game right after the red card, highlights after that
Definitely affected the game being 1 man down; the players were gassed because we just couldn't hold onto the ball after that.
Brozovic did great IMO; if we had Barella in there for sure we would've had a more dominant presence in midfield
I didn't understand the logic behind the final substitutions and it underscores the fact that our bench is pretty weak because they didn't alter the game at all.
Great goal by Lautaro and lol @all the Liverpool shots hitting the bar x3

Overall, bummed we got knocked out but overall Inzaghi did a good job; he got a win at Anfield. Could've been much worse. Now just have to focus on retaining the Scudetto

And how come it's always the Italian teams that get the bad decisions in the knock out stages..Always the English and the Spanish team gets the rub of the green..Why always so???

Feel bad that I decided to not watch the game live….
I avoided the score and just watched it.

Amazing performance… so proud of the boys…. That goal was total euphoria to a complete fucking Armageddon to my heart

We could have had more over the two games…. There’s something here with inzaghi…….Give him a better bench and RENEW SKI A FUCKING SAP

Now lets win the league.

I hope they pay him well when they fire him as well.

Sad to see that we went out, but good result and important that Lautaro got his goal at CL.

Now just go all in and win scudetto! Our boys should be hungry for that after this!

Good to have so many people here think more about the positives than the negatives. Because that's just it. We have an incomplete squad that performed great as an underdog, showing the pride of a champion.

Didn't watch the match cos I didn't have any hope, and the timezone fucks it up for me. Just caught up with the highlights.

This was the ideal result for us.
- It is a morale boost. Our team fucking needs it.
- We definitely can't compete on multiple fronts, so going out isn't a bad deal.
- At least we went out with a positive result. It isn't easy to beat Liverpool. And we have had our problems beating any big teams this season.
- Forget beating, we have had our problems scoring against big teams. So this helps (even if the goal was a rare type and will not happen again).
- Lautaro should hopefully find more takers, especially if Arsenal or someone is interested.

I know that we could have easily lost this match, or conceded 3-4 goals. The Diaz chance late on was a miracle. But then we could have also scored or got something against Madrid, or some others. So I'm not going to find negatives in our performance, and just look at the positive side.

And finally, no matter the result, the game (and previous ones) also showed gaping holes in our squad. Hopefully the management is able to get some better forwards, and 2-3 capable midfielders considering what we have and the exits that we'll see this summer.

Bravo boys. Good win. Unlucky to go out like that.
Sanchez played great but such a silly thing to get a red there. After that we were fucked.

@ataturk5 good luck with the rest of the tournament, hope yous can win it. Klopp has been a class act as usual.
Very gracious of you mate. Unlucky, tie could have gone either way, in fact both games could. Best of luck for the rest of the season, hope you win the title, and thank you again. Tara boys, till next time eh

Happy for @Sawyer for being at this match. What a amazing experience to attend it at Anfield and winning there!

Didn't saw the match. We did better than I hoped for and we showed where we at as a club. Glad the negative tone after the previous game against Liverpool has been replaced by a proud feeling.

Arsene Wenger accuses Liverpool midfielder Fabinho of cheating during Inter Milan defeat

Alexis Sanchez was given his marching orders for Inter Milan after picking up two yellow cards, the second for a tackle on Fabinho as Liverpool knocked the Italians out of the Champions League

Arsene Wenger claims Fabinho was guilty of cheating after Alexis Sanchez was sent off for catching the Brazilian with a high challenge.

The Inter Milan forward was given his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards, the second for a tackle on the Liverpool midfielder as the Italians were knocked out of the Champions League.

It came at the worst possible time for the visitors, moments after Lautaro Martinez's stunning opener, completely derailing any momentum Inter had as the second leg of the last 16 tie finished 1-0 with the Reds progressing to the quarter-finals.

But there was plenty of controversy surrounding Sanchez's red card as the Chilean clearly made contact with the ball first.

And Wenger, Sanchez's former boss at Arsenal, has hit out at Fabinho for simulation as he jumped straight to his feet when the card was shown to the Chilean.

"He rode the line between cheating and being clever," Wenger told beIN Sports. "Fabinho on this foul he was on the other side, he was cheating, he made more of it.

"Maybe he had pain and he was touched by Sanchez. You cannot say it was completely fake. But maybe he could have got up quicker.

"It’s one of these fouls…when it’s one of your players, you say it’s clever.

"When you are completely neutral like we are supposed to be, you would say he could have made less of it, but he touched him well, you cannot say he faked it.

"But he didn’t want to hurt him, he played first the ball."

Sanchez easily could have been sent off for his high challenge on Thiago in the first half, however, but was only given a yellow.

Rio Ferdinand, who was in the BT Studio for the game, felt the second booking was a tad harsh on Sanchez considering he got the ball first.

"I think he’s won the ball. You’re telling me he shouldn’t go to win that ball?" Ferdinand asked.

"It’s stupid that he’s given the ref an opportunity to make a decision. But I still think it’s harsh to give a yellow card. It’s a foul in today’s game, but I think it’s harsh to give a yellow card."

Thierry Henry echoed those sentiments, telling CBS Sports: “I want to talk about the second yellow of Sanchez. If you have played football, you know that’s never a yellow.

“The first one (on Thiago), with the new rules that we have seen, is late. Way late. Foot on the knee. I could have maybe understood if it could have been an orange-red.

“But that second yellow, if you have played football. What is he supposed to do?

“Obviously, your foot is going to go up because you are kicking the ball away. We have seen the play here. Full speed. You don’t have time to take your leg away by kicking the ball, it’s impossible.”

I mean, thanks Arsene, but Sanchez should have probably walked for the first challenge so the red is fair overall.
Exactly. I can't complain because he was incredibly fortunate to still be on the pitch

I love Carragher still managed to make it about EPL being far superior than Serie A as the reason a Liverpool side that was far from their best still managed to qualify. Let's forget Inter were coming off their own crisis, played in both matches without Barella, had 2 injuries during the second leg and finished the game with 10 men.
