good luck Lorenzo and develop well!

He's one of the very few our Primavera had and has decent chances to return some day, when he's ready. I like this guy since his Primavera days, has character.

Delio Rossi continued with his 433 formation in a friendly against Sudtirol that Bologna won with one goal.

Lorenzo played for 70 minutes as a regista and Mbaye for 58 minutes.

Bologna's Serie A first fixtures were released yesterday and they have a very turbulent start in their first 10 games:

Lazio (A) - Sassuolo (H) - Sampdoria (A) - Frosinone (H) - Viola (A) - Udinese (H) - Juve (A) - Palermo (H) - Carpi (A) - Inter (H)

In the past 3 friendly victories for Bologna, Delio Rossi has started Lorenzo as a regista while playing 90 minutes consecutively aside from their last one where he played for 44 minutes. After the primavera friendly, Bologna won 4-1 over Piacenza and two days ago 3-0 over Santarcangelo.

Lorenzo participated in Bologna's fans village in Sestola.

Bologna drew Pavia in the Coppa Italia third round. However, the Pavia police rejected to go on with the fixture this Friday due to fears on public order and safety concerns. The main problem has to do with the access point for the supporters which is the bridge across a canal that runs next to the stadium. Pavia's mayor, Massimo Depaoli, asked the police to retract their decision because it hurts their football and city as a whole as he wrote of facebook:

"The extraordinary performance of Pavia Calcio on Sunday evening in Latina has given the city a triple gift: the chance to play the third round of the Coppa Italia, the opportunity to do that against a team with a glorious past as the Bologna (who are completing the work of the Dall'Ara stadium) and to be able to play this fascinating contest between the walls of the Fortunati.

Personally I think the explanation that I have been given by the police is not enough; other times the Fortunati hosted, in the recent past, matches far more complex in the management of public order. It remains a huge opportunity lost for Pavia because in August the city will give warm hugs to the boys in the great challenge of the national football. It is unacceptable that the national media, press and television are told that Pavia is incapable of organizing a round of the Coppa.

As a municipality we can't but be sad by this decision and we will work because there are no more missed opportunities of this type: Pavia Calcio is considered a city heritage and as such must be protected by all the institutions."

In response, some of the supporter asked the mayor about using the police funds to put the chicken-wire fences around the stadium last year. :trollol:

I love calcio.

Today we're supposed to learn where the game will be played.

For those interested in watching what could be Lorenzo's first official game for Bologna, you can catch it tomorrow when they take on Pavia in the third round of the Coppa Italia.

August 14
21:00 Italy time

I'll try and post a stream in the Italian league thread tomorrow.

The game was officially moved to the stadio Romeo Menti in Vicenza.

Delio Rossi called 22 players for his official managerial debut as Bologna's coach.

Goalkeepers: Da Costa, Mirante, Stojanovic.

Defenders: Ceccarelli, Ferrari, Maietta, Masina, Mbaye, Morleo, Oikonomou, Rossettini.

Midfielders: Brighi, Cozzari, Crisetig, Diawara, Rizzo, Sylvester.

Forwards: Acquafresca, Brienza, Cacia, Mancosu Paponi.

You can follow the game on twitter via #BFCPavia

Bologna also released their updated squad numbers for the new season and our boy picked number 6.

He must be without a doubt a true professional player (and maybe an ass kisser) to survive this well after his goals dried up.

Rumour has it that Salih Ucan is on his way to Bologna. Hopefully that won't affect Crisetig's game time

Bologna buying anyone they can get their hands on. I don't think Uçan would play in front of the defense as the only player like a regista. I always thought of him as more of a Pjanic replacement. However if Bologna decides to change formation that could certainly mean less playing time for Crisiteg. But then again, who's to say he won't beat him out? I mean this guys is a good prospect overall and got decent playing time last year, Uçan is coming of a year of injuries and Roma's bench.

Originally, I was planning to finish this tomorrow but you guys are lucky my computer center had a problem with their servers which postponed a test we're having. Anyway, I enjoyed Lorenzo's game this time since it's different from his old visits to Lazio's Olimpico and the typical physical presence of Biglia and co.

Lorenzo's Stats vs Lazio:

Touches: 69
Passes: 58
Passing Accuracy: 79.3%
Key Passes: 1
Long Balls: 5 (2 accurate)
Dribbles: 5

Tackles: 1
Interceptions: 3
Clearance: 1
Aerial Battles: 1 won (I saw 2)
Fouls: 1
Fouled: 1

Played: 80 minutes (was subbed out for cramps)

Passing Range: (squawka)

How do you touch the ball 69 times and pass it 72 times?

Sorry, I copied that 'template' from the Juve game a couple of pages back and forgot to edit that one.

It's 58 passes.

I've watched only the first half, but in my view he was very good in passing. I mean, when he was put under pressure, he was good enough to distribute the ball properly and without hesitation. He has composure, good passing skills and vision. In defense he wasn't good, but the whole team was overplayed and looked shitty.

He could easily play for us as a sub tbh since we are lowering our standards in mf...oh right he is a DLP...the kind Mancio ignores and sells as soon as possible.

Nvm then

Honestly I could see Mancini liking him. He is 6'0 and he can tackle despite being a DLP.
