expected a lot more from this season after a promising first game vs Lazio. needs to leave Bologna. it's confusing why he didnt leave in january.

biggest criticism of loans is that there isn't enough incentive for another club to accommodate a player they don't have ownership of so playing time isnt guaranteed. however, this is sadly a great example of why giving another club ownership doesnt necessarily make the incentive big enough. incentive depends on tactics, performances, and $$$. donadoni has always preferred a more energetic midfield, for example at parma he didnt give lodi a chance despite everything that was going on last season. secondly, lorenzo is a good player but his quality was never enough to automatically guarantee a starting place and diawara has impressed. lastly, there's still more economic incentive for bologna to develop diawara. and there's no incentive for bologna not to use a 4 mill signing as a backup.

few months ago y&h said it could've been good for him to stay at cagliari, can't help but rue over a missed opportunity. cagliari are first in serie b, he could've had valuable continuity in serie b (and back in serie a next season).

I dunno, I didn't see anything special in him when I saw him play...good enough for a mid table club at best...

He wouldn't give away every ball he received and cause the team to concede within 15mins.

he's a young, talented midfielder + we have a buyback clause, so we should automatically be interested in his development. i dont think he'll be good enough to start for a more competitive inter side but anything can happen in the future. the jury is still out on how good/bad he can be because it depends on his development. he's not going to go anywhere if he stays at bologna, year of development wasted.

technique, vision/range, and positioning/tactical discipline are strengths. tackling, physicality, agility, composure, shooting are weaknesses. his strengths are very impressive for his age but whether or not he can be good enough for inter comes down to mitigating his weaknesses. at the very best, i think its a bit hopeful for him to reach the top level with his lack of agility. can he compensate with his strengths? i dont think so but let's let him develop first.

he's not nearly as bad as his playing time at bologna suggests. after all, fio was linked to him before they signed tino costa. not sure about his chances in any of the promoted teams, but empoli could be a good place for him in place of paredes (who will return to roma in the summer). if fernando leaves samp and they dont get relegated, he could do well under montella. maybe even chievo in place of pinzi. he'd struggle at genoa but i think gasperini's tactics would push his skillset really hard.

In my FIFA 16 career mode (I play with Frosinone) Inter have a buyback on him. They buy him back and make him a starter, and he turns into a beast LB :eek:blivious:

Like Dylan says, Donadoni finally decided to play him after Diawara was sent off against Milan a round earlier.

His last game was before Christmas (December 19th) and since then he's been on the damn bench. Twice now his agent came out criticizing Bologna and Donadoni for that treatment (not giving him any chances) despite his discipline and commitment in training & off the pitch.

A year wasted with no proper development after a solid U21 Euros last season..

As for his future? His agent did confirm his desire to meet Bologna's directors and find a solution/exit. The teams interested in him are Empoli, Sassuolo, Udinese and Real Betis.

Also, some sites claim that he's still owned by Inter which is just confusing... unless Bologna are refusing/reconsidering their purchase option.

I think Sassuolo would be a good destination for him if Di Francesco stays

Move over Azkaban, we've got a new prison.

Apparently, Crisetig can't leave Bologna next season too until they change his status from a two year loan to an outright purchase which they're either stalling, hoping to renegotiate, or cancel which I doubt is possible at this stage. Anyway, it explains why they couldn't loan him last winter.

The offers Bologna received for Lorenzo from Stramaccioni's Panathinaikos, Sassuolo, the newly promoted Crotone and Empoli (they were interested in Saponara) have been cancelled or postponed until the situation is resolved. So unless they pay us the 4 million euros or we want to get him back, he's not going anywhere until June 2017 which is crazy. Corriere di Bologna says we're willing to accept the payment in installments.

Donadoni: "I think Crisetig has something to offer, he always trained well."

You'd tell yourself these are the words of a man who reevaluated his player or even his treatment of the player last season.

Well, I don't think so because karma gave Donadoni the middle finger. Apparently, the boy who Roberto decided to trust and play last season ahead of Crisetig, Amadou Diawara, decided he doesn't belong at a small club anymore and when Valencia & Roma came knocking he refused to join his club's preseason training to this day.

Diawara's agent:

“Bologna say that Diawara is worth €20m, but then they’re paying him €3,000 per month like some regional player. I hope this situation doesn’t continue until August.

“The directors know what Diawara wants: to move on.”

Di Vaio:

“He should show up here and then we can’t do any more than a fine,”

“Now we’ll see what happens, the situation is definitely surreal. As a club we want to talk about it as little as possible and focus on the new season.

“We never did anything against him and he didn’t allow us to negotiate for an adjustment [of his contract].”

The media doesn't know what that mean for Crisetig but they say Empoli are seriously pushing for him regardless of the current drama.

Let's hope he leaves that circus soon.
