Are they actually interested in taking up the option though? Last I heard he wasn’t playing much there.

Huh? I thought that’s an obligation clause.

What is with Inter? Has Inter sent emails saying "Fire Sale Everything Must Go" ? Even the small clubs bully and dictate terms. It's time to play hard ball occasionally, especially teams that want the eleven starters. Saw a report that Arsenal have interest in Lautaro...the price mentioned was ca. 50M:palm:

Does that mean we had an agreement for them to sign Pirola for 7.5m in the event they were promoted?

Instead, they just come to us and say, "we don't want to pay 7.5m. How about 4.5m?" And we accepted? What the fuck is that? Absolute fucking losers.

Against Galliani too no less.

If the original agreement didn't include a percentage on future sale it could turn out to be profitable for us. Instead of an extra 3 million now we might make several more in the future if he explodes with them. Or maybe by lowering the amount for Pirola they'll have more budget for Sensi who we don't want to make minusvalenza on. I know we like to act like our management is the most incompetent in world football but maybe there are other variables that they're more aware of than we are.

You can not really play hardball when you are broke and other clubs know it. As a result, they deliberately low ball us when making offers in the full knowledge that we will accept because we are desperate beggars.

It is a sad state of affairs and I hope that the club does not sell young players, only looking at the money that can be made. Because if they do that, there is a very real risk they could overlook a player's potential, sell them on the cheap and live to regret it because they were blinded by the money.

I mean.. he's barely played for them, and there was no obligation. Looks like they had an option. Given how little he's played why would they pay 7m for him? Lol..

It was a simple loan with option deal regardless of promotion. Good guy Inter just decided to give them a discount. We don't even keep a buyback clause. :palm:

he's had 16 games in Serie B in 2 seasons, and he's 20. This comment might bite me in the ass, but I dont think we're missing out on the next Nesta.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but cbs are a weird breed tbh. Look at Barzagli for example. He always looked decent but never anything special at Palermo and Wolfsburg. And suddenly he looked like a top cb at Juve. Pirola probably isn't the next Nesta or even Bastoni. But i wouldn't be surprised if he ended up a decent cb for Serie A level. Someone like Acerbi or Gianluca Mancini. He's just too young to rule him out yet.

he played 16 games last season and 14 this season. The problem is that this season he played 2X less minutes. If I was Monza i would also not buy him for 7M or whatever the price was. Not everyone is a good guy Inter, who should have never bought Sensi, but we gotta be the good guys i guess.

I thought Pirola was a highly rated talent. Injuries kept him from playing quite often. Would like to see a buy-back clause inserted.

When Van Dijk was 19 his club didn't gave him a contract so he went to Groningen and only made his debut very late in the season when he was almost 20 and he was subbed on as a striker not a defender.

If you don't get enough playing time nobody knows how good a player can be. Italy is not the place where young players get much playing time So I wouldn't get too hung up on the lack of playing time. Not saying he will be a fantastic player but in football when you are 20/21 and haven't played much at the highest level we tend to say very early the player is not good enough.

my bad, wikipedia wasnt up to date, i should have checked more thoroughly tbh

the worrying thing for me is that, last season, he got into the first team and maintained a place for ~14 games basically. This season he never broke in until thw play off finals, and I assume probably someone was injured or something for it?
